Burton
Burton, They are not mid bass they are deticated mids from components the eq is set to mid pass for them. As always I placed all the speakers in the locations (except for the subs) before starting they sounded fine and that was free air. in a cockpit that small placement is almost not a worry. If I remember my dj days correctly its a totem pole efffect with sounds lows near the bottom mids mid level and highs toward the sky lol. But again it wont matter much in a cockpit that small. living room maybe concert hall maybe but not there. As for sound my mids dont sound tinny my highs in the three way however when the volume is up cant take it but they are removable we will see. In the end as you say its up to me. My last system you found issue and it sounded great (according to you could have sound better but I was cool with what it was) and this system im guessing will be just as fine if not better (thanks to an extra batt better head unit and better cables). Thanks for the imput though. For the record, when I say mid bass, the mids from component sets are exactly what I meant. Even a midrange frequency will bark with not enough airspace. A speaker ran in that location free-air is gonna sound ALOT different (and better) than how it's going to sound in the same location with not enough of a cavity behind it. Also speaker placement in a small car soes matter, ESPECIALLY when using that many subs and such. DJ sound is completely different from car audio. Some of the constants as far as setting up sound in a home or a club are the same as car audio, but most of them are not. If your intent is to win bass-offs, I'm sure you'll do well, but if you're looking for sound quality of mids and highs, you might want to rethink a little. Anyway, I was just trying to help. I won't post anymore, considering you are trying to tell a guy who has done this stuff for years and knows the ins and outs of it total misinformation. Either you were misinformed, or you want to make yourself sound like you know more than you do, but either way, I won't bother you anymore. Good luck with it! emann420
I hope it's not to late but make sure you move your ground wire off of the speaker bracket and on to the body of the car with the paint scrapped off. Also a good idea to replace the factory battery ground under the hood.E

OBSESSIVE_ENT.
87 lol bin crazy busy with the 2jz swap but now since i dont have bellhousing or fabrication money I turnned back to the audio. well pictures will follow... the trunk speakers are on their 3rd layer of fiberglass. and the center counsole in the back wich will house the extra bstt and two 3 ways is on its first layer. the roof has its layer of bondo and one layer of fleece (didnt have any 1/4 inch of sponge. I am wating for some black on gray coach fabric for the roof. I did run into a road block. there is no place to put the two sub amps. my thought is in the chair backs of the front seats but i want to recline a bit lol. also the rear counsole is too narrow to hold a co2 bottle so I have to figure that out. annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd I want a water feature someplace. thanks for the intrest

OBSESSIVE_ENT.
yea something like 2 airrated water tubes down the front of the rear counsol or down the rear quarter we will see
emann420
Just a few thoughts. I would try the water feature with two thin plexi panels spaced about 1/4 inch apart. The rear plexi panel should be colored and mirrored for 2x the bubbles. The front plexi can also be the 2 way mirror type for super extra bubbles. LED lit and bubbler from the bottom, making sure to hide all components lower than what is visible from the outside. Maybe even a florescent dye in the water and blacklight color LEDs. I love lighting. Here are some of mine, some of the albums are large but check out the Yukon gallery that has 6 lit up 12s and amp racks lit LED and strobe. The 650s and Camry albums also have lighting in them. Good Luck, Have Fun! OBSESSIVE_ENT.
Eman thanks for the imput. thats exactly how i did my last stet up, black back wall and the front wall reversed image of my logo it wher the radio was i have to test if it still holds water though. saw the pics thats nice you did all of the others??? or just the last one?? I chose plexi hose because it would wrap around the sides of the speaker then dissappeare into the slope then reappear to wrap around the other speaker. the lighting would be a issue unless i put crazy leds inside the counsol or a neon line through the hose. emann420
Yep, all me. If you go with the tube you might try some diffused fiber optic cable inside the tube?
OBSESSIVE_ENT.
ok after nearly baking myslef with the chemical reaction (had to fiberglass in the garage as the car is up on jacks) layer 2.5 is on the rear counsol. I covred the rear speaker boxes with layer number 2 of fiberglass and made a enclosure cover spaning from the rear headrest/speaker to the hatch latch with cardboard. under that i put two extra layers of cardboard (to account for the build up of fiberglass and bondo that will come soon). its now covered with foil and waiting for the first layer of fiberglass. I still havent figured out where to put the two mtx monoblocks as the chairback idea looks like it will take up too much room. a thought was to put them upside down on the stenthened rear roof pannel but thatt would have the rear passenger (if i ever carried one) impersonating a pretzle as well as create ventilation issues (Oh crap forgot about the caps lol). I may put them by the quater glass. as for water features the clear tube seems to be the way to go. Pictures are on the way
