Guest
Among the Latino/ Hispanic groups, it's unwritten knowledge that crossing through Mexico as a tourist or as an immigrant is one of the most dangerous things to do. It's for this reasons that many Central Americans and South Americans harbor resentment and anger towards Mexicans. Anyone crossing through Mexico has to worry about 1) Mexican crooked authorities 2) Mexican criminals and cartels, sometimes these can be one in the same. Alot of these type crimes don't ever get reported. But hearsay among immigrants groups has for many years pointed to this fact. Here's an article pointing to 72 Central and South Americans killed by so called "drug cartels". http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/08/25/mexico.dead.bodies/index.html?hpt=T2
