jwbrocloud
Has anyone ever done or seen one of our cars where someone extended out the tow hook in the front through that little rectangle in the air dam? Like out and away from the car some? My autobody dude called me at 7 this morning and suggested something. I was just wondering how it would look. pure_insanity
ive had to do a chain ride home from across town with it 2 times and it survived perfectly. 2 or maybe 3 times(i loose count) its been used to hook the winch to pull it up on the trailer. nah it aint going anywhere. its made out of a old piece of trailer hitch tube. only trick is its boilted into the old tow hook mount points and if you look at those the bottom of the frame right there turns uphill at about a 20-30* angle(im terrible with angles) so you have to make an angled bracket section that drops you down to the hight of the air damm opening about 4" iirc, then needs to level out. also at this point the old tow hook was behind a rib in the air damn so you have to move it outwards a bit, maybe 3" which i did with just some simple birdmounth cuts, bend it over and weld it. and of course i added a small gusset in there because i knew it was gonna get used. MrBishi2.6
Do USA delivered starions get the factory tow point? Mounts to the chassis rail and pokes out next to the intercooler. Looks very similar to what pure_insanity has, just a bit higher and in the intercooler opening, not the 'brake' duct.
