Live4Boost
I just bought my first quest so I am new to everything. It is an 89 and I want to get some new pipes to make the engine bay look better. I see some cars on here with what looks to be SS ovc and other pipes running down to the intercooler and I have even seen ones coming off the turbo replacing the accordion pipe for the air filter. Where can I buy these parts?
Laodicea
I think you should sell the car and then run....far... far away.
88FIJIQUEST
I think you should sell the car and then run....far... far away. that is some good advice, but if you're willing to spend a lot of money time and dedication then this is the right car for you. the rewards are amazingly satisfying. But if youre gonna sell it LET ME KNOW.
Boosted_Widebody
on the stock tbi "throttle body injection" set-up, the goofy hose that goes from the turbo and air can can be replace at an exhaust shop. make sure when they weld to the can they dont remove any of the NEEDED sensors and vaccum lines. on the pics of cars with the intake pipe on the right side of the car going into an intake plenum is mpi "multi-port swap" and you can the customize the turbo inlet pipe any way your want. im not going to explain too much on that, because if you were going mpi you wouldnt have asked that question to begin with, or will find out on your way to swapping it. the rest of the piping the exhaust shop can make for you for about 200.00 including making a flange for your new blow off valve....or, you can go to racetep.com and get a 3piece kit with blow off valve for about 300.00. ps: if your going to keep the injection system stock "tbi", you can remove the can part of the air filter "round piece of metal that covers almost the entire filter" and slap on almost any regular air filter instead of an oval shape one. just make sure you keep the lid untouched where the sensors and vacum lines go into. mookeeh sells a hard pipe for the turbo that your talking about. heres some links for ya...not trying to be a butt, but that information you really could have found out on your own with some searching. http://racetep.com/dod_mit.html ---intercooler hard pipe kitshttp://motors.shop.ebay.com/__?_from=R40&_trksid=p3841.m39.l1313&_nkw=mookeeh&_sacat= -------mookeeh parts, mostly made for starquests.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MK1-STARION-CONQUEST-INTAKE-INLET-HARDPIPE-PIPE-TURBO-/190364944639?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c52a288ff Edited May 18, 2010 by Boosted_Widebody
