PHD & 4G Performance Drifting project shop car staring with a 87' Conquest. We picked this car up very cheap and I'm glad we stripped this car down to nothing because I found a mouse had been living in the heater unit.

making room for a 4G63

We took as much out of the doors as possible. It was around 15lbs per door that we cut out.

The roll cage is the next big thing to get done. Some time in the next week or so it should start coming together.

more photos coming soon

Looks good man. I cut most of my door out but I wanted to keep the power glass windows. The steel in the door is the real weight saver. It depends how you do your cage though, cause removing them could be very bad in a side impact. I don't know where your getting your cage from but I could give you my spec sheet if you want to use as a reference. You will not find a tighter cage in a quest.

I have a customer that builds 10.5 Outlaw drag cars that's going to build the cage for me. I would do it myself but when you have people that already do this kind of work, I'm more than happy to let them do it. Thanks for the offer on sending specs. I do plan on having door bars in the right places. I have a friend that runs in Formula D and he sent me a copy of their rules to go by.

I'm still in the planning stages on that one. I want to use a front knuckle off of something to where I can use a full coilover set-up with adjustablity. But I also have connections with Belltech through Doug Van Den Brink if I use a Mustang set-up. I will post more if I figure it out soon.

It wouldn't take much to get S13 Nissan goodies up front, and a well-thought out rear wouldn't be difficult to execute. I've got a couple ideas to get a Stance GR+ setup for an S13 chassis onto our cars with a bit of fabrication.

That was my first thought also and I plan on using Stance Coilovers since I have connection with Enjuku. Here's another thought for knuckles, I'm looking at Z32 knuckles off of a 300Z this way I can run bigger brakes up front. I've got big plans for this car but I'm not sure if I can pull everything off. I will try very hard to make it happen. In the next week or so I hope to get a shipment in with seats, remote brake m/c for my Tilton swing pedals, Ksport handbrake, fiberglass hood & airdam, and much more. Tax returs are in and I plan on spending some of it on the car.

Also I'm working on becoming a distributor for Fuelab in GA, so I will be running Fuelab on my car.

If you get that done before Vegas, I'll be just about picking your car apart in the parking lot checking out finite details and clearances.

Best of my knowledge, N/A Z32 stuff is near identical to S13 stuff, save for the 4-pot calipers. I've done my fair share of Z32 caliper swaps on S13 spindles/knuckles, and they're essentially bolt-in. You'll probably have better luck finding N/A parts in a junkyard or on eBay for cheap, and the N/A setup - while differing from the TT only in rotor size and thickness - is more than enough brake for a track SQ.

I swear by Stance products - I've installed a few sets on customer cars as well as on a couple company cars [Tr@ckside Drift's S13 Silvia and Sileighty] and the components are top-notch. Not to mention they're based in the USA, and can rebuild/revalve the strut bodies for any springrate.

... so you are out of the great peach state?

Yes I'm in Woodstock, GA 30 mins north of Atlanta. If you don't have plans on May 2nd you could meet me at Silver Dollar Raceway for the Import Showdown. 4G Perf and I are one of the many sponsors they have and we take a few cars down for the event. I really hope to have the cage installed and get it painted so we can install the 4G63 with all of my hose & fittings on it for a display. I will keep you informed if you're interested.

This is just one of the many items we're gathering for our project. It's a Tilton brake & clutch reverse mounted pedal.

  • 2 weeks later...

I found a complete engine this weekend, but it needs some work and we need to check it out. This will help me get the car finished quicker and I still have a back up block sitting here. We were going to make big power but I decided to tone it down some so I could get use to the car. Now we're just going to go with around 350hp to 400hp which is a good starting point.

I just started checking it out and this engine has a new head on it. Next I'll see how the bottom end looks later today or tomorrow.
