BillS
I have an 86 flatty that is now intercooled. It needs a clutch. Slipping real bad in 3rd. Should I use a clutch for non-intercooled car or get one for an intercooled model? The diameter and spline count are the same.
vbrad511
Find a used 88-89 flywheel and install the larger 240mm clutch...and a new slave for the 88-89 too. You'll be glad you did.

ucw458
You can take your flywheel to a machine shop and have them drill it for the larger bolt pattern of the later 88-89 clutch. New 88-89 flywheel from rockauto is $171. Drilling yours is cheaper.
