My 89 quests alternator went bad, wondering what other car alternators might fit (like monteto, and i read that a 95 sonata 3.0L alternator 110amps, words fine as well) dunno, trying to find it cheap. If anyone knows what other car alternators might fit and work let me know.

Thnx guys!

and when the one wire alt dies you won't have a clue until the battery is completely dead and the car shuts off.

uhm, no... If he keeps the stock alt hooked up along with the 1-wire, like I said. The voltmeter should still work just fine. It reads voltage at the battery so...

Get the Hyundai 100 amper. I absolutely love mine, direct bolt on with the AC removal bracket. 100 amps = FTW no slow blower or wipers while the lights and stereo are on. cost $100 bux tho.

so you want him to run the one wire, but leave his dead, non-working, pos stock there to keep the gauge alive? riight...

year and model?

Trying to figure that out myself ATM.... got mine off ebay and works great, was called for Starion 100 amp but it has Hyundai logo in the housing. Bolted right on too, just had to change the pulley for my 10mm belt.

It works with the AC bracket just fine as long as you redrill the front bottom hole a tad larger. It still mounts square but yoou have to hold the bottom bolt with a wrench as you tighten as it wont "self stop" on the ridge after drilling. I will get a pic of mine in the car.

I guess I should have specified... I was thinking spend the $50 for a stock replacement and then add the HO for a second alt. to be 100% honest, he said upgrade/swap so I didn't even read his post, i just posted an upgrade/swap option.
