Nightcall Posted December 3, 2014 Report Share Posted December 3, 2014 Hi Fellas, just got my car back from the shop and the rotors were machined as well as got some new break pads. New rad hoses. Slowly but surely my car is getting road worthy. I passed smog as well. SWEET. I noticed that parking her in reverse on multiple occasions I have her dying on me. My dad (orig owner) said he got it a new alternator a few years back though I suspect it may be bad. He's not sure what it is and he is usually spot on of what's going on with the car. What happens is, when I put it into gear, it dies like I'm not putting enough gas. The thing is, you need to have it revving really high so this does not happen. What's with that? Any clues? markhansenconquest Posted December 4, 2014 Report Share Posted December 4, 2014 use VOM meter and see if your charging at the battery....u need 13.5 volts to charge a 12 volt battery ...13.5 to 14.5 volts is ok...maybe the fusible charging link broke...
