Did a search in FAQ and body mods, and found 1 promising reference, but it is pointing to a link on the old dead SQC site, which does me no good. Are they thicker or something, to allow for the thick belt winding? Do I need to cut a slice into the middle panel piece for the belt to go through (my belts-which came out of an 84- came with all the plastic trim pieces, but I'm not sure if my door panel has a slot for the belt or if I need to cut one)? Now I know I don't have to cut up my middle door panel piece for the belt to go through, I can go behind it. I'm going to leave my tracks in place so I don't have to change out the headliner and all, but I 'd like to remove that metal piece that rides on the track, that the belt connects to. Thanks to get that piece out, you'll have to remove the track (or at least the plastic band/track inside). you CAN do this through the a-pillar by removing the limit switch and it's bracket there. BUT you'll also have to loosen the motor so the gear can come loose and free from the inner track/band. That requires removing the rear seat bottom and lower side panel (not to difficult). That's the way I actually went about changing the inner track/band when I found mine was frayed and about to break (before I swapped to the manual belts) Derek Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
