Fanta
I'm having some trouble deciding if the difference is really worth it. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_...duct_id=0292941 http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_...duct_id=0280427 It's really only $50 I suppose, but is the memory mhz difference worth it? Minagera
I doubt you will notice it to be honest, but it is only $50 bucks :-P
Fanta
yeah but I could put that $50 towards the STarion or some cool PC feature i DO find it amusing the higher end model is FTW Edited September 23, 2008 by Fanta
strang3majik
you would only notice the difference if you were looking for a few fps in Crysis or something. but, most likely, no you wouldnt. kinda like shaving tenths off your quarter mile time...for some, its everything, for others, it was fast enough before they swiss cheesed it....lol but, if you get SLI certified RAM, either OCZ or Corsair recommended, both will read up to 1200....and they both say theyll read the same, minus the 1066, even on EVGAs website. IMO, save your money, and buy the cheaper one...DDR3 is out now anyways, so, who nows how long the ddr2 will stay alive for since its getting so cheap. and also, thats recommended levels with the board...you can overclock it Edited September 23, 2008 by strang3majik
Fanta
yeah, I was looking at the DDR3 790i, but it broke my budget. At least all my other parts short of the DDR RAM are transferrable.
Komeuppance
You're only going to be able to max it out if the clock speed of your processor is in sync with the clock speed of the memory. -Robert
