chassispuke
u might have purge the cooling system and your fans arent turning on.
TexasQuest
I wouldn't leave anything in the cooling system except water and antifreeze. Get that Prestone flush stuff out of there and refill with coolant.
Nightcall
Hm ok. It still needs to be flushed tho. Brown water still coming out when i drained it. Is it ok to add coolant?

station
Take radiator out and use a hose to flush it out forwards backwards upside down etc etc.You could've disturbed coolant sensor or ballast resistor in front of rad?
Nightcall
Take radiator out and use a hose to flush it out forwards backwards upside down etc etc.You could've disturbed coolant sensor or ballast resistor in front of rad?Where is the coolant sensor (did you mean thermo sensor?) and ballast resistor located? I don't think I've disturbed it. I will take the advice of taking it out and flushing it though. Thanks Edited October 27, 2014 by Nightcall
station
Thermo/coolant sensor is right next to the thermostat housingBallast resistors are below the bonnet shut catch (mounted in the centre).

TexasQuest
You should flush the cooling system until it is clear, no brownish color. I would backflush the cooling system thru the heater core too. No telling how much crud has built up in there over time.
SFBMX88
These cars don't have ballast resistors. The no start could be coincidental. Do you have spark and fuel while cranking?
Nightcall
other than the obvious...how to tell if you have spark? I have new sparks and wires.
station
Take HT leads from spark plug, hold end against earth (ie engine metal), turn engine with key and look for spark arcing from HT lead to engine.
station
I thought the injectors received the power from ballast resistors? The two I've had have had them http://forums.austarion.com/viewtopic.php?t=6344&highlight=&sid=e8633b73916baeac532c2644bc41f1c4
SFBMX88
Does it crank and not start/fire? Or does it not crank at all? That resistor set under the air cleaner is to reduce current flow to the Starions low impedance fuel injectors. Without the resistor, the injectors would burn up. Ballast resistors are used on vehicles with a points type ignition system, something our cars dont have. To check for spark, you can have somebody crank the engine over and use a 12v test light: You can also pick up an adjustable spark tester: http://www.oemcycle.com/image/Adjustable_Ignition_Spark_Tester-900459826.jpg or pull a spark plug, connect it to ground, and check for spark while cranking Edited October 28, 2014 by SFBMX88
