No start (FIXED!)
By Jehu,
FINAL UPDATE: FIXED!
It was one of the injectors not firing from it's pins being corroded. Pulled the injector and cleaned with some 2000 grit sand paper and a flat head tip.
After replacing the MAF/MAS and swapping the MAP didn't help, I pulled the OVCP to see the injectors. I had my wife crank while I watched and I saw a mist but it only appeared as if one injector was working. I pulled it's clip and had her try again and nothing happened. So I pulled and cleaned!
END FINAL UPDATE
Need a GOOD used 12A or 14B Turbo
By Starfighterpilot,
MY '88 OEM 12A turbo finally gave up. Too many miles (285K) and the rear oil seal (compressor side) is leaking.
So, if I remember correctly (back when Christ was a kid in '88 &'89) that the '88 &'89 Starquests had an upgrade from the 12A turbo to the 14B (I think it was 14B). This was a dealer installed option back then.
So I'm looking at my options:
1) Install a GOOD used OEM 12A turbo, or
2) Do the dealer upgrade to a GOOD used 14B turbo and rebuild the OEM 12A and put it o
HKS air intake?
By superquest,
I've seen a Quest with the HKS mushroom ram air intake on it and was wondering how it was done and how much would it cost?I had it on my 88 Supra turbo and it sounded great and since I go to car shows it looks better than a 1G mass sensor. Also when buying the HKS ram air intake which car would I say its for?
Gauges won't work
By clbsinvaders,
Hey I put the new autometer boost gauge in cluster, and now nothing works except the gas. I can't figure it out. The needles for all the gauges are staying at their lowest position, 0 for speedo, 0 for tach, and so on, and so forth. Everything is hooked back up, but now nothing reads at all.
The car's an 86 ESi-R.
Any ideas? Please share!
