I've been reading a few threads here with interest. My background involves swapping low-cost late model Generation 3 Chevy V8 truck engines into various foreign cars. I have done this with two RX-7s (sold), a MK3 Supra (sold), and a BMW 5 Series wagon (sold). I still have a 280Z project with an LT1 Trans Am engine & T56. I was wondering how much information there is in a VIN/Frame number.   I have a 1988 european version Starion. The frame number on it begins JMAA183AMJZ. I am guessing that the first J = Japan, first M = Mitsubishi and 183A somehow refers to it being a 4G63 engine - as the G54B model always seems to be 187A. But I have no idea about the rest and would love to know!   My local Mitsubishi dealer was able to tell me that it came with the "T25" option package - but doesn't know what that means (n
