Just wondering how we are gonna keep these cars on the road with ppl parting them out thinking its a gold mine. just a though

Looking for 1 or the other

My brother in law stopped in at my dads while I was there last weekend, said their Explorer had had a couple hicups when starting. Seems every great once in a while when he or my sister hit the key the starter cranks unusually slow. They let off, hit it again, and it cranks fine. I'm thinking it's got a failing contact in either the starter or the solenoid. I'd like to get it taken care of before it fails completely and leaves them stranded with the kids. Thoughts?
