new starion owner (for the second time) could use a little help

alright so just to start off, i finally bought a second starion, i had one a few years ago, bought it, put a clutch in it the next weekend, and then lost my job the weekend after that and had to sell it (been sad about it ever since) so after a few years i finally stumbled back asswards into a second one, this one is an 87 last one was a 86 both widebodys (love the look) so just to start with the list i have recieved on this particular car as told from the previous owner, my research has pro
225mm flywheel redrill to 240mm resurface and lightening

Gauging interest on flywheel machining would shoot for 10 flywheels but 20 would be nice. I have a couple sitting here but would need all the cores here aside from my two spares before I run them. One of my spares I will run for an example picture. For my 83 I re-drilled my stock flywheel with the 225mm pattern to accept the 240mm pressure plate and am very happy with how the clutch feels now. I also took the mass off of the back down some lowering the weight of the flywheel from about 35
Anyone has issues using an inverter?

The one time I tried to use one I blew my alternator on a 7 hour drive to Minneapolis. Almost didnt make it driving on my battery, Derek came by and saved me with a spare battery 20 miles out. I was using a inverter, I think it blew my alt like an hour into the drive. It was a brand new Remaned alt from Rock Auto. I do not know why the failure happened, or the inverters rating. Anyone ever have issues? Is it safe to use one? There is a good deal on a pocket size 175watt one I kinda wanna get
