Eibach springs were similar to the color you describe. Very awesome that someone was able to get the Tokico inserts in rear housings. Im still curious how the top threaded portion of the strut mates with the strut mount.
And yes, if the strut wont return to the top(rebound) it is shot.

When will people open their eyes to the fact that we only invade countries to plunder their natural resources and give the rebuilding contracts to close associates. Yes sir and yes sir. Id like to do a sweep test on it before its shipped but not 100% on the procedure off the car. I also have the white plastic piece that connects to the throttle shaft which ill include.

Let me break down my experience to save any confusion about ordering the wrong parts. I ordered the correct parts and the correct parts were shipped. The problem was the completely inadequate packaging (and the fact that one of the parts was incomplete). The strut rod had poked through the end of the box and the top nut was missing (probably fell out the hole the strut made). I paid right around $35 for shipping and that should have been more than enough to package the product so it arrives the way it was sent. That didnt happen.
Secondly, and most improtantly, once this was brought to their attention there was ZERO interest in their part to remedy the situation other than having me buy another strut and wait another week for the part. On top of that, the 5% discount wasnt applied to the strut I had to buy to replace the damaged one. Shoddy customer service from start to end.
This little thread isnt going to scare them off or put them out of business. It was just a recount of how they treat their customers once the money is in their hands.

And now that I think about it.... since I had to just order and pay for another strut (rather than waiting weeks for the swap out), I bet the 5% discount wasnt applied. So not only do I get to wait a week longer but I also get to pay more for the product. Never again will I buy from rockauto.

5% off isnt worth the headache. I could have got them a bit cheaper on eBay and at least they would have thier feedback in mind.

And since were on the subject... ATTN: KYB, the stupid bands you put around your struts during shipping may save you $.05 but it is a piss-poor way of packaging your product. Use the wire loop like monroe does! This has happened three times now ordering KYB struts.

Ordered struts and dust boots/bumpers from rockauto last weekend. Packages show up yesterday and see that the kyb's were shipped individually in their "retail" packaging and that the band had come off of one, poked itself through the side of the box, and the top nut was mia. So I decided to go over the rest of the order and wouldnt you know, one of the bumpers is missing from the boot kit. Not the end of the world, but do you think they coukd offer an upgraded shipping service on the parts that needed to be replaced so I could work on the car when I had originally planned?? Nope! Nothing but lost time on my end.
I realize mistakes happen but thats when a good company does what it takes to come through when the situation was thier fault to begin with. It didnt happen this time and next time I will think about ordering elsewhere.
