  1. I have a set of Hoosier drag radials 225x50x16 mounted on polished 8's. Tires have one pass, basically new. Rims are in good condition. Car is gone have no use for this traction. $375.00 + shipping.
  2. What are the signs of the oil seals in the turbo going bad?? ie..smoking sometimes....all the time.... thanks!!
  3. I just had that prob!! For my 87 it was a clogged cat. converter. Car ran fine, just lost 10-12 psi that makes about 97 hp. @3 psi.
  4. Today the sun shineth down.....turns out the cat. was plugged. 14psi!!!!!! shes back, thanks for the tips guys!
  5. Right on indiana!! Now someone is listening...the car runs great. I like the clogged cat theory. The #2 inject would cause the car to fall on its face. I will also check the timing. thanks!!!
  6. This is not my 87, its still a virgin;) Girls tsi and all.
  7. Bad plugs or fuel system would cause car to run bad...I mentioned the car runs fine. It just lost 9 psi appx. Thats according to the stock guage and the seat of my pants:) Actuator..arm...internal wastegate seem fine.
  8. My friends tsi sat for a while and now she only hits 3 psi and I definately feel the hp loss. It used to peg 12 psi. Thinking the wastegate/actuator is what keeps the turbo from spooling to 25...just unplug vacuum to actuator and it should boost up. No. still 3 psi. Turbo spins freely by hand and car runs great otherwise. thanks in advance.
  9. The #3 & #4 plugs are the problem. Theres lots of fuel pressure and the injectors were cleaned and flowed.....
  10. Could anyone shed some light on this one?? Weve got a stock 87 thats been running perfect for years and now it likes to melt...fuse....spark plugs???? Thanks in advance!!

  12. it sucks..car was at its 10lbs... and after sitting a month, lost6-7psi?!? CAT is a good idea, ill try that. Thanks everyone but keep em coming.
  13. I have an 87 that runs good but....... shes only boostin 3 psi! Could you all throw me some ideas for the lack of boost? thanx!
  14. I HAVE THE AEM WIDEBAND AND HAVE DONE ALOT OF OPEN ROAD TUNEING...IT WAS ALL S%#$! AND GIGGLES UNTIL MY INEXPERIENCE CAME THROUGH AND NOW MY RACE BLOCK IS BACK AT THE MACHINE SHOP.....THATS THE REAL STORY.
  15. I have a Hurricane/megatune & turbonetics 60-1 setup. The car with the basic program runs ok here in southern oregon. FIP has been more than helpful. I think I need someone with experience that lives in a more similar climate. The temperature and humidity can turn my car from friendly to Frankenstein daily?!? The 2 reputable speed shops in Northern Oregon wont touch Megatune! So I am asking Kelly, Chad or anyone over here for help with fine tuneing my monster! Thanks.
  16. My 60-1 has blown every head gasket made. Im in the process of having the block o-ringed. Hope its the last!!!

  18. THE COIL IS GETTING JUICE...ITS THE NEG. SIDE THAT SEEMS FUNNY. INSTEAD OF A FLASHING SIGNAL ON NEG. SIDE...APPEARS TO HAVE A CONSTANT SIGNAL, NOT THE USUAL ON & OFF SIGNAL.

  20. I have an 87 thats been running perfect for years. It died one hot day.....wouldnt start...cooled down for an hour and then started fine. This was the last time. Basically no spark. I have cleaned all related grounds. Swapped (with running car) the coil, distributor, and ignitor. Now im lost, any help would greatly be appreciated!!

  24. Thanks chad!! Being on a tight budget these days...would a mighty max or D50 in a wrecking yard be an option?
  25. CHAD...........still diggin the 6 speed but want to shorten those long gears. Can I do this through the rear end? If so, can the pumkin be swapped out or do the gears need to be swapped?? Could you shed some light on it.....thanks!!
