  1. Thanks for all the responses everyone and thanks for the quick reply. Its taken me a long time to do this because like i said i had no idea what i was doing and was relying on someone else to help me finish it. The one thing im worried about is that im going to mess something up and ruin the motor but now with all theses replies im feeling a little more confident amd im going to head up to the shop today and get to work on it. I am missing a few parts but im sure i can find them somewhere. On another note the past 4 years of my life have seem to dragged, i was battling depression, being overweight and being stuck in a dead end job. Ive recently started to gain control though, ive lost 12 pounds in the past two weeks and it keeps coming off, i just got an oppourtunity to start a career that will provide me with the income i need to live comfortably and all in all im just feeling like a new person and 100 times more motivated then i ever have been. As far as this board goes i want to thank everone for being so helpfull and kind, i dont think i ever would havent gotten as far as i have if this place wasnt available. Ill be sure to keep everyone updated when i get this beast running finally thanks again and wish me luck
  2. I have a 87 bronco i need to get rid of, i wont sugarcoat it the truck is junk theres more rust then paint and most of the floor is missing lol, its really only good for parts. The truck runs great, but last week the tranny started leaking fluid and i havent driven it since. The motor is the only thing worth any money it has a 302 with about 100k on it. Ive never had a problem with the motor ive let it sit for six months at a time and it always fires right up and gets great oil pressure. I plan on junking the truck by the end of this month but i figured if anyone has a need for it or the motor i would throw it up on here. you can pm or email me at liebs87@yahoo.com EDIT: also i have a set of 15 inch chevy rims with 33 inch all terrains two are worn out a bit one has a a tear on the side but keeps good air pressure, i have an extra set of 15 inch ford rims too, if someone buys the truck ill throw those in with it if they want them. I just need to clear out some space.
  3. So ive had my quest for about four years and have been rebuilding the motor since then, i bought this car not knowing much of what i was doing but my sisters boyfriend said he was going to help me rebuild it. He has a yellow 88 which he rebuilt so i figured we could do this together however with work schedules we have just not had the time to finish my car. Ive been considering selling my car and i know i will take a big loss on money and time if i do however i dont have many options left. So my question here is can anyone refer me to someone who i can pay to finish my motor? Im looking for someone trustworthy and reliable, and someone who can give me a quote on the labor. If anybody can help out you can pm me, but the best way to reach me is my email at Liebs87@yahoo.com Thanks for the time, i really dont want to sell this car, but after 4 years im getting tired and i will not be able to keep it at the shop its at much longer. thanks again for any help Ryan
  4. Just bumping this topic back up, car is still for sale. If you think the price is to high make me an offer. Like i said i may also consider a trade, either a decent small sized suv, jeep or even a good 4 wheeler. Also as i said i have parts available, 2 red doors, one needs to be painted, a white hood and red hood. The red hood is mint. Im also going to be selling my 1987 ford bronco(full size) for 500 bucks if anyone is interested. Ill be honest its rotted and is probably only good for parts or as a farm vehicle but the motor runs great has about 90k on it and the tranny and 4wd work good too. Ive left this truck sitting for 6 months and it cranks right over without even trying. If anyone is interested pm me with an offer and we can work something out
  5. Also if anybody wants to make an offer im open to negotiations. I may even consider a trade, i realise its hard to sell a car that isnt ready to go and i know i will never see back the money i put into it but im running low on options at the moment. If anyone has any questions or offers please pm me.
  6. I really dont want to do this but i cannot afford to finish this car, the motor is almost complete but i do not have the time or money to finish it and im looking for a decent daily driver for once in my life. Ok so heres the list. 1988 fiji blue 70k miles, no rot, just a few bubbles starting to show on the side, frame rails are fine interior is mint, black leather. front air dam is cracked but ill throw in a red airdam that is fine. The motor is out of the car so it will have to be towed. Here is what is done to the motor so far. Bored and honed .40 over, new pistons, crank was recut, seals were all redone on the head by me, the pistons are in the head is bolted on main timing chain is on. It will take about a weekends worth of work to finish the motor. Im giving everything i have with it, 12aturbo, extra head, extra throttle body. I have an extra black leather interior minus the two front seats, extra set of red doors, and a red hood, i have a white hood as well. The car has a full hks exhaust, and as well an hks fuel computer, i looked on hks website and the computer alone lists for about 1 grand. Im asking 3k for everything or 2500 for just the car motor and extra motor parts. Tranny is still hooked up to the car. As far as damage on the car, like i said before the airdam is cracked but i have a red airdam in one piece, the paint is chipped from road debris on the front but its not too bad, and there are some gashes where the hood hinged came up from the previous owner. Send me a pm if interested, or my email is liebs87@yahoo.com car is located in poughkeepsie ny EDIT: I also have the rear bumper brand new in the wrap from the factory as well as the garnish kit for the rear license plate. Also i havent been on here in a long time, im liking the new forum and i have to laugh at my signiture, just shows how long ive been trying to get this car running.
  7. No i picked up the motor last week and its sitting in my basement on the stand just waiting to be finished. Im pretty sure i have everything i need so it looks like sunday is going to be the day. The only thing im worried about is that im missing some random bolts, after all it has been like 3 years since i ripped the motor apart.
  8. Yeah, well you know where i live stop by next time your in the area. If your not doing anything sunday we are gonna be working on the quest all day. Im supplying beer and bbq to whoever comes and helps me out lol.
  9. Yeah its been a long road but it looks like its finally gonna happen with in the next few weeks. Honestly i dont know what im gonna do with myself once i get this done. I guess i could always buy another conquest lol.
  10. Ive been talking to a bunch of my friends lately and we decided to try and get together a mitsubishi meet in my town. So far it looks to be mainly evos and galant vr4s. I was approached to try and get some starions and conquests together seeing as im the only one in my town that has one. As of right now we are just trying to see how many people are interested so we can get a date set up. The location will be bowdan park in wappingers falls ny along the hudson river. There will be a bbq and a lot of friendly people that share our interests so it looks to be a good time. Just give me some feedback and let me know if anyone is interested and ill supply a date time directions and all the other information. Thanks a lot guys
  11. I would be down for this but i dont know if my car will be done by then, i dont have much left on my motor but i need help. This is the first motor i have ever built and i dont trust myself to do it on my own. If i can get my car done by then i would defintly take the ride there, ellenville isnt far from me at all. Ill keep you posted on my progress. Also im gonna be starting a topic because im trying to get a dsm/evo meet going in my town this summer.
  12. Its the rs model, lowest model there is. However i may be doing a GSR swap in it this summer, and converting it to power windows when i swap out the interior. I dont plan on spending too much money as i tend to do everything myself including painting it. The quest is where most of my money goes.
  13. Well im in the process of parting out my red 88, i wont be shipping anything as of right now but if your local you can come take a look at it. Pm me for directions. The car has major rot and the motor is blown so i have no reason to keep it for much longer. The air dam, header panel and tail lights are spoken for as of right now. Interior is ok, some rips on the seats. has a mint red hood too.
  14. http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/2122/integrabs6.jpg I bought the car when i was in a bind and even though i always had a dislike for hondas and acuras i fell in love with it. As of right now all it has is an intake, exhaust and fidanza short throw shifter. This summer after im done with the quest this one is getting a two tone paint job and full black and grey interior swap. My goal is to have a nice clean looking reliable daily driver. The paint job is going to be red lower body, roof black, carbon fiber hood and hatch. Motor wise im not sure what i may do yet.
  15. Well, i was wrong when i first got myself into this. I though, hey sure this will be easy, just need a new crank and everything will be good. Its amazing how bad a motor can get when some idiot is working on it. I've had this car since december and have never driven it, the kid i bought it from said it had a knock, so we assumed it was a spun bearing, which of course it was. What we didnt know was how bad the rest of the engine was. Upon taking it out and ripping it apart we found that there were many bolts missing, head bolts had the wrong kind of washers on it and someone decided to let a bolt drop into the cylinder and bounce around a bit, which lead my to spending even more money getting it bored. I ended up doing a full rebuild on the engine, new gaskets, pistons, rings, the whole nine yards. It seems the only good thing on the car was the head, which i lucked out on. Lets get onto the turbo, remember how i said there were many stray bolts, well one of them found their way into the turbine housing and bent the hell out of the blades which left me with a nice useless core. The clutch was also beat to hell on the car, but i was planning on replacing that anyway. Speaking of that i actually do have a question in this post, what would you guys recomend for a new cluth on a stock rebuild. Im not looking to make a lot of power, just a good daily driver and i dont need a high performance clutch. That seems to be all for now, im gonna take some pictures of the interior and everything and edit this post in a little while. I just needed to vent a little. wish me luck with this, im just waiting on the machine shop right now before i can start putting everything back together. Ryan
