  1. it woudl be illegal for this site to facilitate your raffle. nothing personal. think about it though, how would any of us know if it were being run legit? I wouldnt' put up $100 on a raffle run by some dude a few thousand miles away. I'd be leery of doing that with a legit business/entity, let alone some stranger.
  2. this is one of my symptoms: http://en.wikipedia....a_paraesthetica Look at the sensory maps, they lay where your symptoms are described on differet nerve bundles from mine. one hip is completely numb, the other felt like it was on fire all the time. It's gotten way better over time, we think the nerve was being pinched by local swelling caused by my severe trauma. If your pain/numbness is mostly surface only, it's likely just a small nerve bundle being pinched, or was torn/damaged. different nerve bundles affect different regions. I had to self-diagnose on this symptom, even top nural surgions shrugged their shoulders at my symptoms. No meds really work, so you have to find the root cause. if you isolate the bad nerve, they can remove it, resulting numbness ofcourse, bu that is way better than being on fire all day. Mine got worse with increased activity, and occasionaly jolts me with an electric shock like sensation, but that too is getting better as I heal.
  3. that is BS. Even with my "chance burst fracture" [exploded virtebrae] and two other virtebral compression fractures, I don't have bulged disks. ths is after almost two decades as an electrical contractor lifting opbjects more than my own body weight, and doing other "unhealty" lifting frequently. It may be more common that many believe, but it is far from normal. Not everyone has it. Mine was not real bad before my injury, and since I've re-learned to do things due to my injury, it hasn't flared since. seek out a physical theripist, they will give you all kinds of skills and tricks that will greatly reduce your recovery time, and prevent flareups. good luck to both of you.
  4. exactly wat I was saying, though you said it better. We made Pot illegal decades ago, how hard it is to find these days? even if they did stop the gun busienss, what does that do to the guns I and everyone else already own? Think "we the people" couldn't form a malitia if we wanted to?
  5. just don't take NSAID's long term if you value your stomach lining, I wouldn't trade back pain for ulcers. I've been on them for 6 months, but I'm down to two a day and hope to be off them in a month or two. Then I'll just take them when I've been real active or have an ache that won't subside.
  6. yah, this is how my wife got her two disks back in shape, though save the heat step as a last resort, it often causes inflamation to worsen. it will often feel better while you do it, but much much worse the next day. the hot/cold works for some, but if it doesn't work for you, you'll be in hell for a few days. naproxin sodium doesn't do much for the pain, but it does keep the inflamation down quite a bit. It will still hurt, but it will heal faster and easier if you take them. only thing that makes the pain go away is heavy, addictive knock-you-out meds, or illegal stuff, but that isn't living now is it. the only way to make the pain better is to heal that disk.
  7. think about using small pillows to support your back when you are sitting in a chair or a car, this is the single best thing to do. My wife ha s herniated disks from a fall injury years ago, this is what keeps them at bay. I also used to get a sore back when seated at a desk for long periods before my injury, her trick kept me from getting flareups after I tried it. you will have flareups the rest of your life, so just make the changes now.
  8. I very badly broke my back last summer, one of the virtebrae exploded into many pieces, and two others were flattened. I'm on the roa to a very good recovery [concidering], so I have become a sort of back expert recently. Things you can do to help keep it down once it's not full blown pissed off: naprxoin sodium, AKA alieve, works wonders for me, better than the perscription grade stuff they had me on. You can't take tis stuff forever or it causes other problems, but it's good when you are havin g a flare-up or after a busy day. ice pack after heavy use, even if you arent' sore. heating pad above or below the disk if you start getting cramps or sore muscles, keep the heat away from the disk itself. This keeps things from being under tension all the time limit your activities to shorter bursts. You can still do the same stuff, just do it with more breaks inbetween. light exercize of your core muscles, consult a physical theripist for the best ones for you. Mine saved my life and without the PT's advice I'd still be in painfull hell. they have a lot of other tips about how to make changes in your life and daily activities to help keep you healthy. find new ways to do some activities that you can't avoid, like gettign dressed, or lifting objects, this is where you can probably do the most prevention. try different sleep posititions if you wake up sore, takes a while to get usd to them, but these kinds of changes really help.
  9. if we don't have rues, we will be another india, africa or china. I jsut don't want us to be a north Korea either, so balance is needed.
  10. Thats not true, go find me ten links to child pornography sites that are real [not FBI traps for pedaphiles]. Some government intervention is good. Trust me, I loathe big government, but even worse than that is none at all. Go move to India, africa, or china where counterfit goods outnumber the real ones, and try to buy an important medication that you need to survive. protecting inventors rights and legitimacy of our products is in part why much of the technology and product safety we enjoy here exists, because we strive to protect those inventors and their products. this bill was a good idea, it just got carried away. hopefuly one follows it that is reasonable.
  11. why buy a bunch of gun companies to you can close them? Isn't that a waste of money? If I buy GM, Ford, Toyota, and Chrysler and quietley close them down or dictate they only make cars for the pentagon, don't you think you will see a whole lotta NIssan, mitsubishi, and all the other cars suddenly surge in popularity. You can't stop demand for guns, thus you can't stop the supply. Drugs are illegal, but ordanairy people still buy them every day, with little effort.
  12. Everybody speeds to, should we get rid of speed limits? we don't want to arrest every person that smokes dope, we prefer to just get the dealers off the streets. Limits availability, and subsequently reduces demand. Same concept. these sites are stolen intellectual property dealers, and they are the target. SOPA may be over-zelous, and if so, i'm glad to see it get stopped, but I don't want to see dealers openly deal without consequence, whether it's drugs or stolen property.
  13. if someone uploads your new song off your hit album and 5,555,555 people steal it, you have to sue 5,555,555 people for 5 cents each. You are still out hundreds of thousands in lost revenue because no one will buy your album when they already have it for free, but you can't sue because no lawyer will take your case. The copyright office will do nothing for you, but to say "yep, you can sue all 5,555,555 people if you want". that is what they are trying to protect, not one idea that one person may want to steal, but one ideal/thought/creation that many will want to steal.
  14. Post this in the virtual mechanic section, there's a good chance we can help you through this there.
  15. on the magna, the port floor is raised and radiused where the stocker is just a flat sharp shelf (vey turbulant). The inlet and valve seats are in the same location, but the runner is differently shaped. It's designed for more laminar flow to the valve seat.
  16. The M6, M7 and M8 are the ones to get, the port geometry, specificaly at the valve seat is superior. I haven't flowed one personaly, but several others have and the mumbers all say about the same things you jsut stated. Just from looking at it, you can tell it's a better flowing design. the M-9 is a rare high compression head, but the port geometry is the same as the M6,7,8's.
  17. unless you use a really small diameter tube, the "signal" will travel down the lines very quickly. there is very little volume movement, moslty just pressure change, so it will travel near the speed of sound down the lines. Sound is just a pressure wave. Only time you have latency prolems is when you are using flow as a means of measurement, not just pressure.
  18. the walls are too thin to tap a new one. That is why I make mine with a minimu of 4 ports, and mod the magnas with the same. search Ebay, there are vacuum manifold blocks that are a little clearner and do the job well. You can make your own with a block of aluminum and some drilling/tapping.
  19. Then we are accused af being a communist regime that forbids freedom of speach We can't win, but we do try.
  20. I think those two sentances are contrary. Community = watching out for each other. It won't be pinned forever, and wasn't intended to be. It's there to help people find it for now. After people stop unwittingly make positive referrals, we can un-pin it.
  21. If people stop posting in this topic, it will slowly fall to the bottom of the page, soon to be buried by other useless banter. Keep posting in it and it will never go away, the choice is yours. raise of hands: how many people here check the feedback forum for current intel before referring members to someone elses parts/service? If this were just some nubie joe-smoe with a single bad transaction, there would be no purpose to putting it up here. As has been shown in PQ's case however, people still revere him and put him upon a pedistal, and continue to steer members to him. That level of exposure requies a public notice.
  22. people have been getting screwed on car parts since the first car was invented.
  23. Do you remember the lightened flywheels he did? or the customers car he "lost" and got sued for? people have had problems with him before. No vendor is withot flaw, including PQ.
  24. I have an HKS flywheel I'm selling, one only a couple the group has ever seen. I got it new about 18 ago and was told at that time it was the last one in the country. It's 225 mm, but I ran it with a pucked clutch that held a T4 turbo at 22 of boost, so don't think you are limited on size. It's also lighter than the fidanza and made of high grade ductile iron, not an alloy, so it won't develop hot spots or weaken over time.
