  1. 1st SCR-SCCA Event March 20th Freestyle Music Park Myrtle Beach, SC http://www.scsportscar.com/modules/autox/ Hope everyone can come out!!!
  2. If I can get rid of my Civic before you sell this I will definately buy it. Your only an hour away as well. I'm ready to get back into another starquest. To bad you already have another daily driver or I would suggest a trade. I've got a 96 Civic EX 5-speed that gets over 30mpg in the city and almost 40 on the highway if anyone is interested.
  3. I am selling my 1996 Honda Civic EX Coupe 5-speed. It just broke 200,000 miles but it is still a solid car. It still gets 38mpg on the highway and over 30 in the city. It is green with grey cloth interior. The interior is almost perfect by the way. I got it from my wife after she got a new car. She drove it while she was at college and it has been maintained very well. I just put new brake pads and spark plugs on it about four months ago. The tires still have about 60% of the tread left on them and the oil has been changed every 3,000 miles. I also replaced the driver's side CV axle about a year ago so it is fairly new. There are some very minor problems with the car (as should be expected). There is some minor damage to the paint that you can see in the pictures. Nothing major and there seems to be no rust that I can find. The exhaust manifold also has a crack in it. It has been like that for about two years now and it hasn't caused any problems. Also, the odometer doesn't read the correct mileage but the correct mileage is noted on the title. Th odometer is about 100,000 miles off so the car only says it has right over 100,000 miles on it. This is still a great car and has a lot of life left in it. We have never had a problem with it. I am willing to trade this car for a 1G DSM/Starquest. I would prefer it to have little or no mods done. I am open to other cars as well so shoot me an offer. I will take 3500 cash or best offer as well. Please e-mail me with any questions at dlhwebservices@yahoo.com I am also able to get pics of anything that you might want to see.
  4. I finally got rid of my DSM and I am looking for a Starquest. Needs to be an 87-89 (don't really want an 86) I am looking to spend between 2500-3000 for the car. It must be a clean car and be able to pass SCCA inspection. I would prefer it to be bone stock. If you have something please e-mail me at endless_boost_2000@yahoo.com
  5. I wanna run you, to bad you aren't closer.
  6. I haven't been on here in forever and just wanted to add my two cents in. Rau doesn't run a 2.0 according to SBR, he does run a 2.1 destroked motor though. Shep is still using the 2.0 and he just broke into the 7's. That car is crazy. Second AWD car in the 7's and the first 4 cylinder AWD in the 7's.
  7. If you can produce something similar to the "hurricane" manifold and prove that it is going to make the power that it's suppose to then you can count me in on one. Even at half price ($500), that's still a lot of money to through around, so I am sure that everyone is going to give you a hard time until you get all the details. I am just glad to see someone trying to help out and save us some cash and give us another option. David
  8. I am interested as well depending on what all is going to have to be fabbed up in order to get it up and running on a car. I also agree with both the guys above that we probably just need a little more info on exactly how the manifold is going to be produced and what kind of tuning and research is going to be behind the making of the manifold. David
  9. I agree, you can build the best drift car in the world and still get your a** beat by a ricer in his dad's Thunderbird if you can't drive. I have gotten away from the SQ scene for right now, I am focusing on my 3G eclipse for now. I am trying to get a strong SCCA set-up for right now and that car has a good suspension set-up from the factory. The only mods that I have done to the car are Eibach Pro-kit springs, KYB AGX's, ST Rear sway bar, and Yokohama Parada Spec-2's. I think that should be a good set-up for right now, I may end up looking into a chassis stiffening kit, but I am not for sure about that. I am not really feeling the whole 500 bucks for the kit, don't know if it is worth it or not. I am planning on getting another SQ at the end of next year and do exactly what was said above, start at the bottom and work my way up with the whole drifting thing. I would love to see how a SQ would stack in a competition against some of those cars. Guess that I will just have to wait until then to find out. Thanks, David

  11. I have always heard that weight distribution is very important in a car. That is the reason that the 240's, rx7's and Miata's are suppose to be so good at drifting. They have almost perfect weight distribution (which the Miata does 50/50), they are rear-wheel drive and are extremely light and nimble. I have driven a second gen. rx7 and it is a very good handling car. You can just feel the car very well and tell that it was built for that type of stuff. I have a buddy that is doing an SR swap in his 240. I can't wait to see what that thing feels like sideways. Later, David
  12. I have tried drifting a couple of times in the Starion. I agree that i has very very bad understeer. The other thing that really makes it hard was the damn boost creep. The turbo seemed to want to spool late and make the car kick the rear end way to far around. David
  13. Yeah, it is a Corolla. I made a typo. I haven't gotten to much experience behind the wheel of a starquest because I can't seem to get my just right. There is always something wrong with it, but I am still working on it. The couple of times that I have gotten a chance to get it sideways, it seems to be very very smooth and easy to control compared to other cars that I have driven. I can't wait to get my new 89 on the road, I love driving these cars. David
  14. I just got the new issue of Import Tuner in and they rate the top drift cars in our country. Â This is how they rate them: 1) 89-94 Nissan 240SX 2) 85-87 Toyota Celica GTS <--- Corolla (My bad ) 3) 95-98 Nissan 240SX 4) 93-95 Mazda RX7 5) 86-91 Mazda RX7 6) 94-01 Mazda Miata 7) 03+ Nissan 350Z 8) 03+ Mitsubishi EVO 8 Â 9) 93-98 Toyota Supra 10) 92-95 Lexus SC300 I know that these cars are top notch cars when it comes to drifting and handling, but how would our cars match up to these? Â I have always heard that a starquest is one of the best handling cars that Mitsubishi has ever made and is also suppose to be very good as far as drifting. Â Is this just another example of everybody over-looking our cars or are these cars a little more top notch than ours? David
  15. If you bring the flange side down to where you say you are that should be straight. I am glad that somebody is finally deciding to make these. Looks good from here. David Could you maybe post a pic of the shield without the protective wrap on it? ;D
