Upgrading to e85, question on injectors
Munkee replied to Munkee's topic in Advanced Virtual Mechanic
Technology: I already have a t3/t4 50 trim, manifold, building the exhaust now, 2.25 charge piping should be in a month or 2. Im now deciding on my fuel system. StarQuestResque and Threedoor: Thanks for the info. I was sticking w/ the 30% figure because I would rather overshoot and tune down than be short. I hadnt thought about looking into the injector driver. ive found some AEM units on ebay for under $200. Looks like instead I may be going with 1150/1600 right now though. Would the driver still be required for that size injectors? If the 1600 doesnt cut it I may then upgrade to the 2000 later. Skullzaflare: Is the e70 stuff that much worse though? I can adjust the tune to compensate for lower octane, but is it a huge gap? The car wont sit for long periods of time, and in fact will get most use in the winter. During the spring/summer I ride the bike 2-3 times week so the car sits longer then but still gets used 1-2 times a week. -
Looking at doing some upgrades very soon. Decided to see what was available here before I buy elsewhere. Sway bars Front/rear strut bars 3" exhaust, preferably from turbo back (looking at making my own, but wanted to see if I could buy one for cheaper or to save myself the work) intercooler w/ 2.25" inlet/outlet Larger injectors AFPR High flow fuel pump Wideband O2 Gauge mount Let me know. Have paypal ready.

Upgrading to e85, question on injectors

Premium here is 91. Still could probably do it, but I like the possibility of a higher tune. 300 is goal, but anything over would be gravy. -
Im debating an upgrade to e85 for my quest and was hoping someone on here could help me out. I'm already looking at putting in a walbro 255 pump, braided lines all the way through, and an aftermarket AFPR and filter (looking at Fuelab). I was targeting some 950/1200 injectors for gas, but I figured i could go up to 1200/2000 for not much more and just run E85. Are these injector sizes about right? My other mods would be a MAFT Gen 2 w/ GM 3" maf and a wideband, and I'll be running a T3/T4 50 trim w/ 2.5" or 3" DP and exhaust (straight pipe), 2.25 charge pipes all the way through. Looking to make around 300+ HP on TBI. The only real cons I can come up with on this are that I'll be burning fuel faster (the car is my part time DD, and in the winter gets driven around 2-3 times a week 60mi round trip, maybe 1-2 times a week in the summer), and that my city only has 1 E85 station, but luckily its 5 min from my house. I appreciate the help.

Im looking at possibly getting an evo 8/9 intercooler as an upgrade, but I've seen quite a few members here mod their stock coolers to use 2.25" pipes. My questions is, if I mod the stock intercooler this way, is there still a big difference in performance between it and the evo intercooler? Also, what kind of pipes did you use to mod the intercooler (material, gauge) and where did you purchase them? The only ones I seem to find are the cheap thin aluminum ones they sell in the ebay universal intercooler kits. Appreciate the help.

Just ordered my D2s this morning, have a set of MK1 bushings in the garage, and currently looking for a set of sway bars. I want to get all my suspensions stuff done in the same week so I'm looking to see if there's anything else I might have missed. I'm looking a set of strut bars as well but if I miss out on them I'm in no hurry I will get a set later. Appreciate the help.

i have a 1g maf w/ pigtail, no filter. $30 + shipping. W/ the pigtail your MAF-T will be plug and play as well when you upgrade.

I was under the impression what made the S16G "super" was the 10cm exhaust housing. Otherwise it was just a 16G/Big 16G? Not trying to call you out, I have a Big 16G on my car currently in a 12A housing so I was looking for clarification. GLWS.

Yes, they came off a garret turbo so they are 3/8 adapters on the turbo side w/ 6AN hose ends, hose clamped on the other side. No offense jszucs but I think I will hold them a little bit longer before I let them go at 20. I could reuse the hose and adapters but the main reason im selling is I dont dig the blue/red look and im making new hoses w/ different colored fittings. Everyone elses PMs replied to. I will be shipping more stuff tomorrow evening/friday morning so if I get paid before then I can have it out before the weekend.- 36 replies

Well I didnt put anything into lightening actually. It came w/ a motor/trans that I got from someone local. That's why I wanted to see if I could make it work, since I got it for "free" and I figured any machine work on top of free still wouldnt put it over the cost of a new aluminum one. Took it to a machine shop today said they can surface, balance and drill it and quoted me @ $120 for all the work, which I think is a good deal. I'm sure it made it easier that I left the PP and a spare 89 flywheel with them for reference. We'll see how it turns out when I pick it up next week.
