Thanks. I figured another LS swap would be pretty boring and basic at this point.

The quest might be well suited for this swap. The BMW engine has a deep oil pan bump down at the rear which seems to fit right behind the crossmember (with a bit of work) so that means everything in front of the cross member is open to fabrication. In theory, having forward facing steering arms may net me better handling but it's a low bar considering the steering box it had.

Almost anything is better than the box!

I've been contemplating making changes to the steering, but I can't fab anything myself :/

  2. I would.  Talked w/ Boosted Diamonds about it, but I'm not comfortable shipping a unicorn cross country when I've had so many rare unuseful items disappear via USPS and UPS.

Especially considering i paid a ridiculous $3500 for the louvres.

Though the only thing better than these in plastic would be these in carbon fiber.

Neat. Did you get this stuff off Yahoo! Japan auctions or something?

    yep.

I came across an old catalog for Autoplas, reached out to them to try and get the molds (they said no in case they ever want to reproduce them, which they won't ever do), so I started scouring the internet.

The underspoiler piece was just in the bag with it.

  4. OEM under valance (JDM).  I think it's for a flatty i propped it up on some stuff

    All straight from Japan.  Neat

  5. I bought 1 of each available blades at my 2 local parts stores and none fit the pins I've been reusing for years is too short to go through these blade housings and into the arms.

I tried bosch, Rain-x lattitudes, trico, and goodyear.  No dice on any of them.  No other blades around at least in my town

  6. I would recommend spending the extra couple dollars on D2.  I have 2 cars one with D2 and one with legion elite coilovers.

The legion elite coilovers are like the wish.con version of D2.  I wish i didn't buy them.  The saving weren't enough for the low quality.

Good on the guy for trying to make a cheap option, but as they say, you get what you pay for.  Unfortunately, you'll get less than you paid for

  7. Check 9-24 in the fsm.  There is a circular packing at the rear of the head listed as item 12.  That could be your problem.

I haven't had any issues w/ even the lowest price valve cover gaskets.

Also, don't over tighten the valve cover, could deform it or rip the threads out easily (it's all aluminum).
