  1. Bump-its!!! Daily driver Integra got totaled today, so if anyone has a daily to trade, let me know. Email preferred scott.kayser@yahoo.com
  2. yeep still for sale Bill. and your answer is 2 babies starquestg54b
  3. Hey 240z, I used this motor mount half, which is a first gen small block chevy (first pic). Its the half that bolts to the engine, but I used it as the one that bolts to the chassis. I used the ls1's stock engine half of the motor mount. (second pic, just the engine half) I sent a bolt through the middle of the two, then i had to move it forward a couple inches with a steel plate to get it in the perfect spot. http://www.mopderbyproducts.com/ChevyEngineMtTop.jpg http://www.turbols6.com/albums/album39/aaa.thumb.jpg
  4. I have a build thread in Engine Swappers... The info on the mounts is on the last page
  5. Ill swing by for sure next time i work out that way.
  6. You're crazy Bill! That's some original thinking right there. Wasn't the 300zx longitudinal rwd? What trans does it use? Scott
  7. I talked to you on Toledo Tuners a couple months ago... I'm the person that has the Si sedan too. I think my name on there is starion88. bump for more pics
  8. was asked about mounts, so i figured id help you all out... the mounts for a ls are basically flipped gen 1 sbc mounts. i used the engine half of the old sbc mounts as the crossmember half then the stock ls engine half and rubber and sent a bolt through the middle. i did have to make a plate to move the engine about 2 inches either forward to get the engine in the right spot. the position it's in places it perfectly between everything and i can keep the stock swaybar, steering, firewall, auto trans tunnel, and hood. this position also puts the trans mount in a place where i drilled a hole in the stock starion crossmember. the only problem with the steering is it is a royal pain for drivers side headers, which is why i had to make ugly ones. hope this helps. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_0015.jpg

  10. 3k firm as it sits!!!!! 2.5 without seats or rims!!!!! Hey everyone, after 3 years of trying to swap my Starion, I think it's time to move on. The goal of the car was a reliable daily drivable 12 second car that got 25 mpgs. Black 1988 Mitsu Starion automatic 150k, which means larger trans tunnel, a must have for this swap. The body itself is 99% rust free. There is only a very small spot starting to bubble around the wheel well, which is pictured. There is a few small nicks and a couple small dimples. Also, there is 1 good sized dent behind the gas door, but overall the car is in very good shape for the miles and year. I installed a msd 2225 fuel pump in the stock location to feed the ls1. The car has SHP wheels(no curb rash) and decent tread falkens, 255/50/16 rear and 225/50/16 front. ABS is eliminated. Air dam is intact and in good shape with only a couple cracks. Interior- Interior is in great shape. The only bad part are the leather seats. However, included in sale are some very nice and rare 1989 black cloth seats. The gauges are aftermarket Stewart Warner electrical gauges mounted in stainless. The shifter is a non installed B&M Megashifter. Engine- 1998 ls1 out of an SS. 4l60e automatic trans. It has 98k miles and I do have the vin for the swap, so it was not stolen. 05 GTO oil pan. The PCM and harness were sent out to wait4meperformance.com and all unnecessary wires were removed from the harness. They also eliminated the anti-theft, rear 02s, egr, compensated for tire size, and added a performance tune. The harness has wires going to the gauges, ignition and starter, and everything is labeled. Mounts were made by me and look kind of ghetto, but are strong and work... They are flipped gen 1 sbc mounts with stock ls rubber. The headers are the same story. I did not have the resources to make or buy nice tubular custom longtubes, and it is an extremely close fit to the steering box. However, the ones i have made will work good, at least better than the stock manifolds. Whats left to buy- - Radiator and hoses. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GRI-1-25201-X/ this griffin will work and is only $179 - Front sway bar bushings. Lost them somehow. These will work tho. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ENS-9-5126G/ - Hood pins. The radiator will be in the way of the latch, so you'll need some. - Driveshaft. - Some pipes and a muffler to finish the exhaust. I have some 2.5 inch bends to finish the Y-pipe. - Battery - Fuel pressure regulator. All the ls swap guys use the 99 vette fpr/filter. It's only like $40 dollars from the zone, and it has the return right off of it. - Air filter What's left to do- - Do something with the exhaust. It's open header right now. I was gonna do a Y-pipe into 3 inch all the way back with a stock-appearing muffler, and there is room to do this, but buy it and do what you want. - Heat protection around the headers and steering box as they are very close. - Wire the whole set up. Again the new harness has made this very easy. - Mount PCM. - Make some kind of air intake. I was going to do a 90 degree coupler into a piece of pipe into a cone filter. - Hook up the shifter - Trans cooler lines. I was going to reuse the stock starquest cooler, but it probably needs cleaned. - Fuel lines http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1323.jpg ONLY rust spot http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1324.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1326.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1328.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1329.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1330.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1334.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1336.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1337.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1338.jpg msd pump http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1339.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1346.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_0015.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1059.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1488.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1489.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/100_1490.jpg Price is 4000 obo. Will take trades. I can be contacted through email or pm. Emails are forwarded to my phone so that would be the fastest response. scott.kayser@yahoo.com Thanks for reading!!
  11. Bump no one needs trans parts??? I'm sure its just something little wrong with it.
  12. Hey everyone i ran across a trans I forgot I had at my parents house today. It is an 88 5 speed that DID work great before mysteriously getting jammed into 1st gear. I couldn't get it out of first so I bought a new one and forgot about this. However, I need a stock driveshaft to cut up for my ls1 car, so I will trade straight up to get this trans outta here. PICKUP ONLY as of now unless I don't get any bites in a couple weeks. PM or reply on this thread. Thanks, Scott
  13. Hope all goes well... sounds like a fun car.
  14. I'm willing to pick up a nice set of 88/89 black front seats. Scott
  15. Got a couple parts in, so I took some pics. Schools out now so I can actually spend some time on the car. I sent the pcm and harness to wait4meperformance.com. They eliminated the VATS (vehicle anti-theft system), rear o2's, egr, and threw in a tune. They also took out the unnessicary wires in the harness, and labled everything http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/06-22-07_0046.jpg ls2 front sump oil pan out of an 05 gto http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s76/scottjames86/06-22-07_0047.jpg Getting the car towed out to the shop where I'm doing the work tomorrow or the day after to pull out the 4cyl and maybe start the mock up.
  16. Lookin good!! What are your plans for the car? Drift, drag, street, autoX?
  17. What do you have in the works? 5.3 Liter, forged internals, 6.0 liter heads, and a cam. Plus a big turbo. Ford, Chevy, Mopar, etc......? Chevy ls1 family LM4/LM7 5.3l truck motor LQ4/LQ7 6.0l truck motor The truck engines differ that they have iron blocks, which are more durable for boost and less $$$$ Plus ls1 parts are interchangable  It's cool because chevy is repeating the family of engines as was in the Gen I small block, which lasted for about 40 years, and was previously the best small block in many people's opinion.
  18. What do you have in the works?
  19. No, it's out of a Camaro, but thanks for the tip. I bet that turbo'd one is one hell of a ride. Is that the same one on streetfire?
  20. Syclone/ Typhoon 4.3 turbo makes great sense. Think of a 4.3 as a sbc 350 with two cylinders chopped off (Same bore/ stroke). It would be my v6 of choice.
