I noticed the metal master pads didn't have a specific material next to them. When I read they were semi-metallic, I immediately wondered what was so different about the compound that made them $25+ more in the bulk buy than I pay for the semi-metallics with the lifetime exchange warranty. I understand they can work at high temps but I drive like grandma 90% of the time. When I checked out the stoptech.com link in the first post I thought I'd browse their product line for Omni pads, found nothing, but they are selling the AXXIS Ultimates for 46 bux compared to $68. I know there are other suppliers on the table but we've got alot of gristle to cut away from what looks like a list price. I wasn't too impressed with the first offering at a bulk rate and should expect to see the second offering at about half that price. This comes after a click to Top End and seeing the metal master's cheaper than the initial offering for just one pair. I was expecting to see them for way more so I questioned how much of this was markup. I started hunting and here's the best prices on AXXIS I've found with a quick Google search.
www.importrp.com has the metal masters at $27 for the fronts and $28 for the rear. phone# 425-398-1846
www.brakewarehouse.com has the deluxe plus rears for $26 and fronts for 32. the metal master fronts are $37 with no MM offering for the rear. the ultimates are also listed at $51. phone# 800-214-4034 or 607-772-9194
and of course www.stoptech.com with the ultmate pads for $46. phone#310 325 4799
they may be dead links or just outdated, but with those prices it's worth a shot. I figured Oscar would want the phone numbers in case these haven't already been considered.
