  1. Only the muffler is left. I'm taking offers on it. It is a muffler so consider its weight in shipping.
  2. The pair sold for asking price today. thanks for the interest SQC.
  3. Great thing about going mechanical, about six less electrical gremlins to chase down. Works on a clutch similar to your ac compressor.
  4. Would like to sell this as a bundle for $120 shipped but will break up for individual offers or non-SQ trades (302 stuff, 5x114 rwd wheels, tires) OVCP with pop-off BOV tube and a vac nipple. Comes with the couplers shown. 2.5" Downpipe with 02 bung Thermal R&D muffler with tip K&N air filter: I dont remember if I had it on a 1G or G54B MAS. Its been cut to fit a DSM can, just been a few years. http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p627/kingpastry/starbundle.jpg
  5. Stock replacement to be used with mechanical fan or solder your electric fan tabs on it. The radiator has never been used but the fan is a used part. I think this was $150 a couple years ago. $100 for the pair, I will consider OBOs, might trade for 5.0 ford parts.http://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p627/kingpastry/rad.jpghttp://i1159.photobucket.com/albums/p627/kingpastry/rad2.jpg
  6. I'm sure this is gonna sell after a search 3 months from now so I'm selling both for $110 shipped or split them and make an offer.
  7. Two exhaust items: Top End 2.5" downpipe. Still in great shape with 02 bung. I'm asking $65 shipped. Thermal Research and Development Muffler with tip. In VGC with some carbon around the tip (just the tip) and a weld bead on the inlet. 2.5" inlet/ 3" outlet, tip might be 3.5" at the end. Has two hangers but atleast one will need to be cut for Starquest use. $75 shipped. You should already know this is the ultimate muffler for SQ/DSM engines. I've heard it on a 2.5" system and had one on my 1st Gen *DM 3" and it never whined, sounded like a strong GM V8 from day one. I can take paypal or money order. The prices include paypal fees. I've got a teaser pic in the thread with the rest in my gallery and more upon request. Exhaust Bits: http://www.starquest...lery&album=1088
  8. The problems with the '86. I had injector issues but they're now new along with clips and a TB rebuild. I think the plugs may not have been changed since then. I found two distys in the shed: '87 & '89. One of the vac advances looked clean and aftermarket. I can throw that on from an earlier response.
  9. The spark plugs will have to be ordered. They kept pushing some others on me but I knew I was looking for a U and a 7 in the NGK part. The vac advance was $60. Don't know if i did it right but when I pulled the vac hose and sucked all I got was high off the gas fumes. Ill reread the thread but that gas was pretty heavy. Another issue?
  10. Ill look into the plugs tomorrow. With all the external work done I could see that overlooked. I've also been putting off mech lifter adjustment, which I suppose could lead to plugs fouling if bad enough. Ill have to start a search on the vac advance for similar issues and replacement if needed. My last three stars were pure pleasure. Some mods, or not, but I could drive them to the moon. I just haven't gotten that with this lingering gremlin around.
  11. I replaced the og knock sensor with another I had laying around. Didn't notice a difference in the stumble. I feel like it starts acting up more when I get a noticeable amount of boost. I've replaced so much that may have been needed but as a means to chasing this problem for two years now. I've been told knock sensor and boost sensor by other members. Any other ideas? Again, its a stumble that gets bad enough to eventually kill the car for atleast a 40 minute rest. It doesn't die as quickly since the TB rebuild and idle/iac work. Thanks to Luis for coming out this summer.
  12. I'm working on this right now. Was told the knock box was my issue along with some research. Just pulled the old one off and found ALL of the numbers to be off. Big enough difference? Do I still swap it?
  13. I've lowered the asking price a G. Still looking for trades.
  14. I forgot to mention before that id throw some cash in on a trade. Can I get some feedback on pricing? Too high, just right? She's a really good looking star in and out, stout rebuild with some goodies.
  15. Ill be moving out of state and cant keep the car around. Its a white '86 widebody with leather burgundy interior, either has 90k or 120k miles. I bought this a few years ago for 2500 with the engine recently rebuilt and put another 1000 into it with a full new A/C professional install including under dash. The other half went to a mechanic for a TB rebuild, new injectors(not used) and new injector clips. cut and paste from the previous owner: So far I've rebuilt the engine having the following done... balance shaft eliminated. new timing kit along with chain and guides. new non jet valve head with mechanical rockers, new valves, valve springs, camshaft, and oil pump. had crank turned .10 and diamond honed. stock pistons on shot peened rods with total seal rings and ausja head gasket. new water pump, new alternator. thats all i can think of right now... the rockers need adjusted now too after having the engine broke in. The exterior is a 7-8 out of 10, the paint is nice along with the air dam. The issues are on the driver corner of the air dam which is hardly noticeable, the rear bumper corner has a paint rub from a parking lot situation and one of the headlights raises but doesnt lower. One of the starion taillights cracked so we replaced it with a pair of conquest tails. The interior is at least an 8 out of 10. Some expected scuffing on the drivers seat with no tears. There is a gouge in the leather piece in front of a rear speaker. The stereo is stock with steering controls and working antenna. Still has the adjustable EQ with flip down screen. Armrest storage opens and closes but is not connected. The car has had an issue since before I got it. Long story short: I can drive it for about 40 minutes before it gets a pulling sensation while cruising or decel until it overcomes the car. It sits for 30 minutes then cranks right back up. May be an easy fix for you but my underhood skills have waned the past few years. Comes with a nearly complete (minus front seats) black cloth "checkered" interior. Thermal Research 3" in and out muffler TEP downpipe Larger radiator with required mechanical fan (all 3 uninstalled) with the add ons Im starting at $2500 but am open to offers and trades. what I need: full size or small truck, vw or subaru wagon, coupe or sedan with yakima or thule roof rack attached. With payment I may be able to pull this west through AZ,NM, and CA for all those "youre too far away" guys. long but thorough
  16. I don't think ill make it home before sundown tonight so maybe we can wait til the 5th.
  17. damn, I didn't expect anything so soon. Let me see what I can do. It would be around seven or eight.
  18. I was in the VM section asking fuel questions a while back. With some tips I replaced the injectors, TB gasket set, and injector clips. Those are things I recall from the 6+ years ago I owned and maintained a SQ. I need to reset the TPS/ISC and I'm coming to one of y'all. So whats your time worth? I'm central at 33rd and Speedway. Name a price, bring a voltmeter and needed tools and we're in business. I dont want to low ball, its my money and I NEED to get it done. For those with the inclination it should be a 30 minute process and I'd like a drive afterwards for feedback with someone who has more recent experience than me. I dont want to go to a shop for this so they can tell me I need a new computer as I walk in the door and I'm not looking for troubleshooting tips in this topic, just a show of interest or some PM's with interest. I'm starting $60 plus as I think it would be a hour or so of your time but throw something out and what you have to offer. I'll throw in some booze if needed or literally sweeten the deal with some bad a** pies, cakes, or pastries from the Upper Crust Bakery, my main job. Thanks guys!
  19. this may work: http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/uploads/1302721924/tn_gallery_5789_933_193133.jpg http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/uploads/1302721924/tn_gallery_5789_933_79544.jpg I have about six pics in all
  20. I just added some pics to my member gallery. I didnt notice the settings were that bad when I took them. Still looking for the trades I was asking for before.
  21. I've got to get rid of a white 89 SHP Quest roller in a hurry. Im losing my storage spot and have no room for it along with the projects and running cars. I really dont want to sell this for a cash amount but I need to write something on the title so I'd like to barter. I would prefer an exhaust midpipe in 2.5", good condition 14G turbo, used turbo timer installed in my '86, Shimano brifters (9s or 10s). Hovering around 75-100 bucks excluding the turbo but just some examples. The car is located in Fredericksburg, TX. Hour fifteen from Austin and San Antonio. What it has: JM600 auto trans sunroof 3 good adjustable struts (4th is bent rides good to 55) good body panels (excluding one door and rear quarter) 90-100k miles good glass (minus windshield) good front and rear bumper (front has a little wave) dash and steering column stock exhaust What it doesnt have: SHP wheels (on four donuts) front air dam engine and most underhood parts most of the burgundy interior I'll try to get pics by wednesday night but dont know how long I have before its gone.
  22. Im ordering a walbro but cant find the wix filters needed. I saw them in a few posts a while back but not through search. Any help?
  23. Ive seen a red star around south east austin and a white quest in the oak hill area. I think I bought a beat up '83 hood off 351 a long time ago. I guess my original problem was blindly accepting what the seller listed as new replacements. I know the underhood filter was mentioned but who knows. He didnt say sh** about the other gremlins that popped up once I got into some bumper to bumper driving situations.
