  1. Yes Shelby, I agree. I should be back more, because I been working on My Black 88 allot. Currently I have put in a Built Forged motor, Clutch/Flywheel, New Tires, and all polished rims. Have all new brakes, ( I have to finish flushing all the brakes and clutch). Now I am just waiting to get my new Bosch 044 fuel pump installed and tank back up. Then I should be ready to drive around. I will then reassess my plans for Turbo/fuel. Once I know for sure what I am doing I will then know the route to go with my Big I/C I have, which is figuring out if I go MPI or Modified TBI. I'am not sure so waiting on I/C because of the piping.
  2. They are older videos from like 2004 -2005. I do have some more, but have not edited them yet. Here is my YouTube channel, check them out and tell me what you think. http://www.youtube.com/user/Mrdashtard Bryan
  3. A few months before I left Active duty I got a hernia during some rough 1SG PT. My choices were to be extended for 3-6 months for surgery, and recovery, or ETS and allow VA to take care of it. Seeing as I had just purchased a house, and had my wife, and my job set up, I decided to ETS, and go the VA route. Fast forward exactly 1 year tomorrow, and I do not even have an appointment yet to talk about doing surgery. Education benefits, they are on top of their game, but when it comes to medical they are WAY WAY behind. If you do not keep on top of them they will just pass you by.
  4. I was going to post a question in the Fuel section but it says I can not start a new topic. What has changed? The second question I was going to post is.... My fuel pump died. I want to replace it with an upgraded one. The future of the car will more then likely will be MPI. So, rather then do this 2 times, I want to install what I need now. I have seen the Bosh 044 come up on a few post. What do you think, do you have any other suggestions? Thanks. Bryan
  5. So this will be either the 2nd or 3rd time I am honestly trying to put this car back together. This time I have cash in hand ready to order parts TODAY. Problem is I have been out of the "Scene" so long that vendors, and parts among other things have changed. The end result will be 100% cleaned up with upgraded turbo, hard-pipes, brakes, bigger I/C. Once all that is done will most likely start working on MPI. MPI is the end thought but will probably not be with in 2013. Right now I am focusing on the main items to get it derivable. Stuff already done to vehicle Fully built, forged internal motor Upgraded clutch Lightened Flywheel 3in no-cat turbo back exhaust Main Items to start with Brakes - Drilled or slotted with comparable pads Brake line - Steel braided Tires - I am not 100% sure on tires anymore, But I want some meat in the back Radiator - I can probably clean this one up and make it work for now but I do want to up grade, Any thoughts on an affordable upgrade? Plugs - what most using now? Wires - Best place to buy? Vehicle Specs 1988 Starion Non-SHP 5 Speed Black exterior Black w/black suede interior Stock 7in Front, 8in, Rear Rims I am basically looking for the current parts known to be good, also the sites that are good to use, and the ones not to use. Thanks you for your helps guys. Bryan
  6. Looking for a Stock turbo in Decent condition. Location is 32738 Deltona Fl. Thanks Bryan
  7. I am going to have to double check exactly where they are leaking. Thanks for the quick replies I will double check either Sunday or Monday thank you again. Bryan
  8. Ok my Car has been sitting for awhile. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=125933 Both of my fuel injectors leaking. 1 you can hardly tell the other one is pretty bad. Where can I get new (Seals) for them? Thanks Bryan
  9. So some of you may remember me. I recently ( JULY LOL) posted that I will be out of the military and back home to work on my Starion. Well I am out and home for about 2 or so weeks now. I got dirty with my 88 today. As it was when I first seen it, It was all dirty with everything in but NOTHING hooked up. What I mean by that is no I/C lines intake to turbo and turbo oil lines, Also parts of the TB was half off and anything to do with spark was pretty much off. After today it sits with all the ignition stuff back on, I/C stuff on, TB stuff on. oh yeah IT FIRED UP. It is running rough because I was not able to get all that old gas out but was able to get most and put 10 gallons of fresh stuff (non ethanol) back into it. Problems. 1.Seems there is Air in the Breaks so no breaks (Seems will be easy just air in lines?) 2.Clutch pedal sits on the floor, I tried to get "air" out but seems no suction so thinking master is gone? 3. I believe its the Coolant temp wire, It seems to have broke/ripped apart so need to fix that. 4. The injectors are leaking pretty bad. Never had this problem were to get new seals at? 5. Need to get the Vacuum lines 100%. Some not hooked up at all and some I think are hooked up wrong. Not so much problems but more need to do/ Wants 1.Need 4 new tires. 2. Windows roll down/up but are slow so need to take apart clean/re grease. 3 . Need new wiper blades (all rotted off) 4. I think there is a leak in the power steering but not 100% sure as level as not dropped but I do see fluid in that area and seems to be powersteering. Current Mods to the vehicle. 40 over 8:5.1 weisco pistons. shot peened rods. Clearwater head ( cleaned up a little ;-) ) Lightned flywheel and Spec clutch Stock turbo on it now But have a 20g Bigger FMIC but not installed. Short throw shifter. Future mods? ( We shall see if this happends) New turbo Manifold and bigger turbo. Mpi. If this picture does show up. 1 note. The tires on it are just whatever tires. I have freshly polished rims in the garage. Bryan
  10. I already Own one, I just have to finish the motor in stall.
  11. Hello, Well almost 5 years ago I joined the Army, Just before that time I blew the motor in my Black 88 Starion and it sat. During my first deployment I had a good friend of the family build my motor (he has built a few Starquests before) for me and send it to my parents house so that I could get it together for when I return. After 15 months I get home and started to prepare to put thos car back on the road, And another hiccup 3 1/2 months after I get home from my first deployment I deploy again and so I then had a local guy install the motor for me since it seems I will never have the time to do it myself. I did not pay this guy but we did agree on a price. Well I am BACK and the motor is only 80-90% done and he seems to not want to finish it. I have 37days left in the military and will be going back home to Florida, I have 1 1/2 months of NOTHING until I start rookie school ( trying to work for the Sheriffs departments. I love the Law enforcement part of MP in the service but dislike the extra BS) So in that 1 1/2 months I am going to try and get this thing running. Since this guy did not finish the job but did do SOME of the work do you think I should give him a portion of what we agreed on? At this point since he has not finished the job and I will now have time I do not want him to finish it. That being said you will be seeing a number of posts from me trying to get this beast running. The car is a 1988 Starion black with NICE black Leather and suede in the center of the seats, 5 speed Non-SHP, Motor is bored 40 over ( think that is what he said he did) with 8.5:1 compression Weisco forged pistons. He says bottom is rock solid for whatever I want to do. It has a Clearwater head that has some meat taken out, 3in DP back no cat exhaust, Did have a 20g laying around but can only find a 14b now. I know it is kinda a pointless post but wanted to say HI again as some of you many remember me. And did have the one question. SO anyway Hello and looking forward to BSing with you guys again and maybe some meets here in the future again. Bryan
  12. OK the motor is in the car. I have like parts of lines ( old and dont want to use) nothing was hooked up due to rebuilding the motor and currently putting it back in. So Basicly I have NO lines in the car at all. I just have a roll of new Lines. I have not diagram to go off of only and old picture thats kinda crap. Location. ( on leave back home) but I am just outside Daytona Beach Fl, town Called Deland. A buddy who owns a shop is trying to help put it together but he has nothing on Vac lines for the car thus we are stuck. I do know alot of people minimized the amount of lines before. If someone could show/tell me that could even help. Thanks alot guys I am shocked how many already responded it means alot Bryan
  13. For some reason the Virtual Mech did not show up when I was finding were to post... I moved post to that forum thank you.
  14. OK I just got back from a 15month tour in Iraq, I am trying to put my 88 quest back together. Its almost done exept I have no clue about the Vacuum lines. Help please Thank you Bryan
  15. OK I just got back from a 15month tour in Iraq, I am trying to put my 88 quest back together. Its almost done exept I have no clue about the Vacuum lines. Help please Thank you Bryan
  16. Thanks for the parts. Great doing Business. Will for sure do business again if the time comes.
  17. Thanks for the Tip I will try that. Still dont hurt for a set of extra motors anywho. Thanks. Coker
  18. Like it says looking for the soft pipes for the intercooler and also the 1 hard (metal) pipe to the TB. Also Both window motors. Mine are old and getting slow would like to have but not needed Yet. BTW in Orlando,Fl area. On R&R form Iraq trying to get this car 100% so when I get back in 3-5months I can go cruise. Thanks Coker
  19. Alright here's the deal. I have owned several starquests over the years ( as some of you may remember them/me) I had a Nice 88 SHP 5speed quest with 32k miles ( sold at around 80k miles then owner hit a tree 4 months later and scrapt it) a 88 BLUE SHP sold to friend whos building a crazy drag car like 3 years now LOL and then a Black 88 that bought "built" but blew up LOL. I currently own the Blown up Built Black 88, I sent to the motor to a family friend who knows a good deal about these cars and built it for me. It now has 40 over weico's at around 8:5.1 compression and he did all the goodies to it ( wont list all dont have that much time on internet here LOL) well I joined the army and had my dad drop the motor in for me and its " running" not all the little kinks out but its running but on the stock turbo. So the question is I am in Iraq right now deployed I have about 12months left in this tour. I was thinking of selling my payed off Dakota and just buying like a 03-04 Cobra or just keeping the dakota and keeping the quest . I could just pay a buddy to finish it up for me so when I get home I can drive it or just selling it and get another toy like another Bike. I like the car in so many ways but then again I am bored with it ( Could be do to not driving one in like oh 2 years LOL well dang actually longer ) I want something Newer but then again I already have this old dream project mostly complete. If I was to keep the quest what you think? 20g and something like 150shot of juice? or if I could find the right person I could have my dad drop it off for a MPI IDK.... HELP lol Thanks Coker
  20. I need a good condition turbo that will fit the stock manifold hell I will take a 20g if the price is right... let me know email me at coker2020@aol.com thank you.. Bryan
  21. That is the same size that is going on mine and my buddies starquests.
  22. they were the high temp stuff. I did a long hard run and after poped the hood and seemed fine. But I will deff keep a look out thanks for the heads up. and I raced a buddy in a 240 sr20det ( look in war stories for the race.) tonight I raced him again 2psi less then last time only diff was this AHP. so it does seem to work very well.
