  1. My car is manual and no ac. I have hard wired the system in and I dont think that it is the system. It might be a vac line issue. What vac lines are absolutely necessary with the pro3? what about boost sensor on firewall, where does that go? Could it be tps? should i cap all vac ports? which vac lines are critical? Also, what size are fitting for fuel line entry into tb cap. Is this the best place to hook up a 100psi fuel gauge?
  2. No Dyno runs yet. The car is not running perfect yet. Whenever I stomp on the gas, the car hesitates and cuts in and out. Can you tell me if its a vac line problem or is it a fuel restriction problem. I think it might be my main fuel line from tank is kinked at pump. Has anyone seen that my car is on the fuelinjectionpro.com website now under pro3 pics. Thats pretty cool huh?
  3. I can't get pics to work for some reason so here are some links to pics of my PRO-3... I hope these work! http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid1...ac/f7bd6a68.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid1...75/f7bd6a6e.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid1...a5/f7bd6a5d.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid1...69/f7bd6a61.jpg

  5. I am very excited to announce that my 83 Starion runs great! All thanks goes to the fuelinjectionpro.com PRO-3 kit and all of the help and advice received form Starquestclub.com. When I first got the 83 Starion it didn't run and with all of the great advice from the people of this board, I was able to diagnose the problem as being a bad stock fuel injection system with leaking injectors and deteriorated o-rings. I looked into all of the options available including replacing the injectors with stock new or used, and possibly going to MPI. I decided to go with fuelinjectionpro.com PRO-3 kit and upgrade over stock and also be able to upgrade even more later to an MPI setup with the items used in the kit. After receiving the kit, it took me about 2 full-days to install it and route all the wires properly and clean. The kit was very complete and the directions were easy to read and somewhat thourough making it easy to get the install process done. Some parts of the directions assumed that you knew where stock items were located. I also liked the fact that help was available with a phone call if I ever got in a bind. I mounted my new fuel controller in the old stock cpu location with self tapping srews as opposed to the recommended in glove box. Also I removed the AC white box on the far right in order to gain easier access to the o2 gromet. There is a lot of wire routing and flex-loom work involved that only looks as good as you are willing to make it look. I opted for the most professional install possile which boosted my total install time to 2 full days. I also would recommend installing a new TB base gasket while the new top is installed. Also, items not included with the kit are new o-rings for the regulator stock tube and TB top bolts and srews. I kept the same stock long bolts but upgraded the two srews to allen head type. The new water temp sensor was difficult to srew in but eventually went in and hopefully was not cross threaded. The new air temp sensor was easily mounted in the OVCP by using a dremel to grind away the seem and a uni-bit to get the desired hole size. The wires were all color coded and the connectors were all ready crimped on making the kit fairly easy to install. The majority of the time was spent routing the wires and doing a clean professional install. After installing the complete system, the car started right up and ran excellent right out of the box. After it started there were no fuel leaks and no electrical quirks to work out because I made sure to do it right the first time. I've had no problems at all with the complete system in its first week of operation and it enabled me to pass emissions testing with no problems the cars first try. The new FI system totally fixed all of my problems and made it easy to add a CAI with K&N cone filter since the MAS is eliminated. The car is extremely fast and has plenty of fuel now if I plan on increasing the boost. The kit along with the chrome intake, totally made the engine bay look brand new and is a very attractive setup. I plan on posting pics soon. Overall I would say that my purchase of the PRO-3 was definitely a wise one and I am very satisfied with the product and the performance that it has helped me acheive. I don't mind the initial investment considering that it will save me from dealing with 83 FI nightmares ever again. I would recommend the kit to anyone who is competent enough to do this type of major install but believe that the novice should leave this install to a professional.

  9. After having irreconcilble problems with my stock TBI system on my 83 Starion, I decided to upgrade completely and rid myself of the inherent problems of the TBI system. I decided to go with the best fuel injection system for the TB instead of upgrading to an MPI system. After doing research on systems available for the 83 Starion, I decided to go with fuelinjectionpro.com PRO3 kit that replaces the injectors and also replaces the computer and the mass air sensor, which provides a great power increase in itself. Ed Case and the staff at fuelinjectionpro.com were more than willing to answer all of my questions about the system and provided me with a complete product discription about the PRO3 kit and pictures of the setup in an 83. The kit seems very complete and is a great upgrade over the stock TBI system. The company is sending out my kit right away and has even offered to help me install it over the phone at a time when I choose to install it. I am very happy with the service provided by fuelinjectionpro.com and would highly recommend all of their products as it is a great performance upgrade that is complete and easy to install! Check out their product list and the positive feedback at this link:http://www.starquestclub.com/index.plboard...;num=1083762678
  10. I have an 83 Starion with no intercooler and was thinking about upgrading my shot TBI system to the Magna MPI. Is it possible to run the magna intake with out an intercooler and what would I need to do to make it work? Does the Magna intake bolt directly to my 83 2.6 L engine? Also, can I run the Magna without any other upgrades to the car including turbo and stock airbox? I just bought a KN air filter for the stock airbox and don't want to get rid of the stock airbox. I am reluctant to spend $70 just for the 83 TBI oring set when I don't even know if my injectors work or not. Can I use any other type of injectors in my 83 stock TBI housing? Also, can I directly bolt on any other TBI system and TB instead of Mitsu? I am looking for the most economical way to go. Thanks for answering in advance and I hope to have the Starion running soon!
  11. A week ago I bought a 83 Starion Technica for $300 at an auction. I have been working diligently on trying to get it running and cleaning it up. So far I have cleaned the engine and the rear hatch. Mechanically I have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, battery, injectors, fuel pump, fuel filters, and the gas tank is currently being acid washed. I wanted to post some pics and see what you all thought. The body is perfectly straight and the interior and leather is in good shape. It is in need of paint because it seems like the clear coat is flaking off. The car runs great after the tune up before it quits running. I am trying to diagnos the non running condition on this website in the VM forum and really appreciate all of the great advice.
