  1. I can't remember where it is on this site anymore. I do know it is http://starquest.i-x.net/viewtopic.php?t=242 on i-x.net. pen
  2. Some of you may know me and my car because I have been around the boards for over 8 years now, albeit as a lurker mostly during the past few years. Although I am not happy about the situation, I have found myself needing to sell my 87 Narrowbody. Here's the info. Please PM me if you have any further questions that I can answer, or specific pictures that you may be interested in. 87 Conquest Technica 118,000 miles 4spd auto trans that shifts well upgraded 3.90 gear ratio w/ lsd rear that fits the auto trans perfectly. Cold A/C never goes past 1/2 way on temp gauge. uncommon tc06-11a turbo that was originally part of the Mitsu Race Team in the 80's w/ no shaft play, works great. nice leather w/ no holes. Undamaged front air dam aftermarket sunroof 2.5 in downpipe (TEP) K&N air filter 2.5 in cat back exhaust w/ flowmaster muffler that sounds appropriate (no rice here thank you) timing chains replaced along with many other normal maintence items such as strut isolators, inj clips, fuel filter, etc. Body has a few door dings and a very small amount of rust that has not advanced in the last 8 years. One of the better narrowbody examples that you will find. Asking $3100 but will entertain a reasonable offer. I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking. If you have any questions, just shoot me a pm. I am located in NE Pennsylvania just off of Interstate 81. http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/penick000/IMG_0884.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/penick000/IMG_0901.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/penick000/IMG_09312.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/penick000/IMG_09212.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/penick000/IMG_0906.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/penick000/IMG_09242.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/penick000/IMG_09182.jpg http://i374.photobucket.com/albums/oo184/penick000/IMG_09282.jpg
  3. Just to let you know I had really bad luck with the Moog Strut Isolators. I have pictures on starquest.i-x.net that show the ballooning more than 1 inch when brand new as the car was set down! (Scarryyyy!!!!) I went with the factory mitsu isolators because there was no way I could trust the moog parts. As a matter of fact, they sagged SOOO Badly that I do not know how they can legally sell them. pen
  4. Prolly be a week and a 1/2 before i get to the car again, but I will measure it. pen
  5. it's quite a bit larger mark. Â Don't have exact numbers because i've never measured it tho. That site is about the only info I have ever been able to find on the turbo. Been prolly a year since I did any searching, but only thing i can suppose is that it is not very common. They musta had some reason for the design. Sure doesn't fit the general scheme. pen
  6. The case is stamped as such so I can only assume, never had it apart. Â It came from the Mitsu Race team back in the 80's. All i really know is that w/ the butt dyno, 5psi on this turbo has more power than 7 psi w/ the stock 12a. The exhaust housing is larger than stock, which makes sense w/ the 06 wheel. Meaning that it's an 06 housing instead of an 05 housing bored out for use w/ the larger 06 wheel. However I still think that fails to explain how or why they would use such a larger compressor housing w/ a mere 11a wheel. Remember now, these are the original stamps on the housing, not machined and re-numbered. pen
  7. well, i'm going to throw a monkey wrench in here to see if i can get an answer to something which I can't explain here's is a picture of a turbo that I bought from Chad. It is a tc06-11a and is seen on the right. The SMALLER turbo on the left is the stock tc05-12a. I do not understand why the 11a would have the larger compressor housing. Can anyone explain? Here's the link to the pic incase it doesn't appear for you here. http://www.26liter.us/DUgallery/pictures/tco611avstco512asmall.jpg http://www.26liter.us/DUgallery/pictures/tco611avstco512asmall.jpg pen
  8. It's a double edged sword tho. W/out the funding of the US companies (using the example of the conquest) mitsu would not have sold as many cars. Mitsu did make money off the cars sold by Chrysler, directly and indirectly. However, I agree wholeheartidly that it is sad to see our companies selling out for an easy buck, eliminating jobs and only benefiting the stockholders (which is a minor benefit finacially) and the higher-ups in the corporation. Good example, the new Pontiac GTO. It's made in AUSTRALIA!!!! Nothing against Aussies, but why couldn't that have been made here in the 48????? While it may be a an unsuccessful attempt anymore, I do buy american if it supports american workers. But what does anymore? For example, I bought a Kyocera cell phone (in part) because it was made in US. However the components were built overseas. Very sad to see corporate america sell out american workers. I still believe in what Henry Ford said (rough quote here, not exact) "I cannot afford to build a car that my employees cannot buy." pen
  9. Lot of you guys are talking elimination of the factory unit, but for those who want to keep the stock one you can do that fairly cheap as well. Ordered my OEM antenna mast from Tallahassee Mitsu for 28.89 part number mb541310. pen
  10. there's a post on that frame rail in the FAQ forum w/ a part number which should help. pen
  11. Mike, I would have ordered mine sooner but I don't frequent the forsale or GP boards often. Just dawned on me today and i went looking. Prolly finding the post in the BS section and bumping it for a while will help others remember too. thanks again! pen
  12. just ordered mine! Thanks again Mike pen
  13. we are designing this type of forum over on trances site http://starquest.i-x.net  don't know when we'll have it setup, but keep an eye out.  pen
  14. you seem to have hit the nail on the head kev. Of all the expertise we have, we seem to be lacking in the body work section. pen
  15. kryten, there are a good many of us who have been saying this for years. These distribs are physical and do work manually to a good degree for many years. While these probs are often overlooked for others (such as a bad vac advace) one can go no where if the stock ign system is not working as it should. Great post pen
  16. don't forget about the now "old school" hks intake which utilized a foam type filter which was still high enough to keep water out of the equation yet low enough to such fresh air. Check it out, starquestrims has one, and i'm sure there are a few others still floating around. While i don't think an oiled sponge is the best filtration devise, i would take that over some of the cold air attempts i've seen. You more spirited guys might have new ideas based on it, look at the last attempts and improve. pen
  17. if you mean a brake bleeder kit, I use my own using fish tank air line (clear works well) and a mason jar w/ a lid, same deal just stuff you find around the house. pen
  18. I love computers, they are our very own Skinner Box. We peck (click) and we expect results. When they don't happen, we get all frazzled and click again, then again, until finally we come to the conclusion that it's not going to work, but never the less, spontaneous recovery kicks in and we try it again down the road My favorite examples of this are public printers. When someone pushes print, and it doesn't print immedietly, they continue clicking about 30x to try and hit that magical number which will work. Other day I fixed a "log jam" on the laser jet in a computer lab, had 30 sheets of print pop out at me (the same 1 page paper 30 x) before it would recognize CANCEL. Hehe, of course I hit cancel more than once pen
  19. yea, it is terrible having to wait months for parts that never arrive :
  20. excellent! I, would sure enjoy it if you will ryddler! Thanks pen
  21. ryddler, guess i didn't explain myself clearly. first off, i love the way the threads or organized right now. I personally would use this format, even if options were given. It's very clear, easy to follow, and better than many boards i've been to. To explain what I was wondering about, take this post for instance. When you check back to this forum, there will be a blue NEW icon next to the name of the thread since I just added a post to it, what I would find convenient would be when you click on the thread, it will show which post inside is the new posts for me. For example, you open this thread, and i've got the only post since you viewed it last, this post would have a NEW icon of some sort on it, but my original post and your post within this thread would not have new next to it. Say one of the other members comes to the forum, and see's this thread says NEW next to it, he then opens it for the first time, and all of the posts within the thread have a NEW icon next to them. It's pretty simple, I'm probably over explaining it, but I'll try a physical attempt this time. Head over to trances board and pick a thread to look at. When you open it, all of the posts within that thread have a NEW icon next to the title. If you come back tomorrow, and there are 2 new posts added to that thread, only those posts will have the NEW mark next to them. This fxn ends up working uniquely for each user. As a person that checks the thread every time there is a new post will only see one post within w/ a NEW next to it, but a guy that lets it go a day or 2 may see 5 or 6 posts w/ new next to them (all within the same thread or topic). This is by no means a necessity, but I've found it convenient over the years, especially when there are a lot of posts within one thread. So instead of reading the first line of each previous post to refresh my memory as to if i've read it or not, this additional NEW icon tells me which individual posts within the thread i've not seen yet. I know I that's a little overkill for explaination, sometimes the simple things are the worst to explain. I'm not a code writer so I have no clue how difficult this would be to write in. If it's a pain then scrap it. I just am guessing that it shouldn't be too difficult if that ancient BBS system over on trances utilizes this option. Thanks for listening ryddler, pen
  22. well, i'll say this. The 5spd trans tunnel is definately smaller than the auto trans tunnel. So, since mitsu did go thru the hassel of changing it, i'd assume the auto trans would not fit in the 5spd tunnel. Again, this is speculation. I know for a fact there is a size difference, but whether or not that difference means there is not enough room for the auto trans has never been proved. Really don't have many ppl wanting to convert from 5spd to auto. pen
  23. Ryddler, being your board and all, I typically don't feel it's my place to comment.  So rather i'll throw an idea around for a change while you are writing code if you think i'd be worthwhile  One thing about this new board that has been a difficult for me is that when a post appears w/ a (NEW) infront of it, I'll go and check it out to see what has been posted.  Problem is, i get in there and don't know what is new from old, especially if the post is a couple days old and brought back up.  Trances board was always able to show which threads had new posts, as well as which posts inside that thread were new(new as in since the last time i viewed it).  I just think this is a great little time saver which I would enjoy seeing on here.  Makes it nice to scroll down thru quickly and immedietly find where you left off. Hope you are having fun writing the new code, really appreciate what you've done for the community.  Looking forward to seeing what is next. pen
