  1. I need a running engine for my 89 Conquest. I live in the Lynchburg VA area. I have to drive the car cross country this week. I am looking for something that is drop in and turn key. My current engine is tired and needs a rebuild. The oil pressure is getting pretty low. I had a running spare but let it go for a friends car last year. I dont get a chance to get on the site much, so if you can help please call me. Lee 210 347 4217
  2. My conquest engine is getting tired and its about time for a rebuild. I am looking for a replacement engine in good condition to keep me going as a back up. I am very busy and i only get on the site about once a year lately, so please just call me at 210 347 4217. Also I am located in Lynchburg Va, and I will be moving to california so any location is fine. I will be ready to purchase in about 90 days from this posting date since i need to get settled in with my move. I will be looking for a turn key engine with all accesories attached if that is possible to limit my downtime. If it is not possible then that is ok. Thanks, Lee P.S. I dont know California's laws yet with these cars. Mine is all stock except exhaust. I have freeflow 3in polished stainless steel exaust with no cats. Maybee I can register it as a classic like many states allow and keep what I have built? For now I have Texas registration, Plates, and Title.
  3. my friend already visited. he said he can pick it up for me. i will pm you
  4. I have alot of friends there in texas. One in corsicana that is coming to visit me in a couple of weeks. I will contact him.
  5. I can make my yellow quest a roller for you. I would like an extra engine and tranny anyway, Lee
  6. I bought an automatic transmission for my 89 conquest only to find that the overdrive is out on it aswell. I cant keep buying a bunch of automatic transmissions, so if someone has one that they know works well then please contact me, Lee I am currently in Lynchburg VA and would like to pick it up if possible. I would also like the linkage and mounts with the tranny as mine needs replaced.
  7. I think its 127k on it right now.
  8. please dont prey on me as someone in need right now with a low ball offer. I deserve more respect than that. Just last year I purchased an yellow automatic body from someone on the site without engine or even wheels for near what I am asking for this complete car. I do have a complet kit striped out of a 5sp quest to make the car a standard if someone is interested, for extra cash.
  9. The car needs to go quick. My new baby is here, and I have been in the ER with her already. I am swimming in bills. I may even consider parting the car out or selling it as a roller. I am out of class now and it will be a couple of months before I wrap up my lisence as an aviation mechanic.. As a conquest brother, someone needs to get this car now! The price was already dropped. I figured someone would have jumped on it already.
  10. The straps were used just to put the car up onto the trailer around the house. I couldnt find my chains or 3800lb straps. someone had borrowed my car hauler and I never saw the equipment again. these straps were just lying around the house for my tarp. The car is still for sale.
  11. I had an idea last night. This guage was taken off my other conquest. when I re-tightened the connections I remember tightening pretty hard instead of just past snug. Maybee I tightened too much causing flow to be impeded in the hose?
  12. I have an aftermarket oil pressure mechanical gauge, set up in my car. when I first start it up it reads 60lbs pressure until it warms up. After warm up at 2,200 rpm at 70 mph (automatic tranny) it is reading about 30lbs. At idle at a stop light it is reading from 0-5lbs. until I touch the gas a little. What should I be seeing at idle, with a warm engine? The Car runs nice with no smoking. is there any other simple reason for low oil pressure at idle? I think it is about due for an oil change soon, though the oil in it looks fine and at the right level. I drove the car to florida last month from virginia and back with no issues. It didnt even burn or leak any oil. I just dont like the pressure at idle is all. My Idle RPM is about 500-700 and the car runs smooth. thanks, Lee
  13. Thanks for the invite, I am stuck here in school in virginia until October, and instead of returning to texas, I may be off to florida. Not shure yet.
  14. I replaced the trans. I now have overdrive again. I am now getting 30.27 mpg on the highway.
  15. I didnt know that the mast n motor were seperate. I have a complete working unit installed in my parts car, I was going to remove it and replace the non working one in my nice car. If the mast just comes out, then thats great. But from what I can tell I dont think the motor is working at all along with the antenna being broken, so I need to remove both. I guess the removal process is a 2 step event (mast , then motor) thanks, I will try it this weekend. If I find a simple solution for the motor not working, I could just remove the antenna and slide the other one in I guess.
  16. Taking the stock antenna out looks complicated. has anyone got any tips. I am exchanging with another stock antenna. Thanks, Lee
  17. I was looking in the FSM and couldnt find anything. Does the O.D. cancel soledoid just unscrew from the tranny? If not, how do I take it out?
  18. temp guage does work, no band adjustment has been done. I am going to put another tranny in it that I know works and then take this tranny apart.
  19. I think i will cut a hole on the fuse panel cover, and install the guage there. I dont have a pillar cluster yet.
  20. one step ahead. My plastic line kinked during instal and messed it up. I have copper on the engine side al the way up to the throttle body. and from there, a plastic line so it can flex with the engine and not work harden. Lee
  21. The factory guage went from very slow, to unresponsive in about two weeks time. Prior to that it was very low readings. I still have it hooked up, but it doesnt even move anymore. I did notice that the end of the wire is brittle and may break soon.
  22. I put in the after market guage, and whalla! Oil pressure! about 90psi at startup. after it warms up 24 at idle, and 80 cruising at 3000rpm.
  23. Thanks Import warrior for helping with the pic.
  24. I think a 3000 gt would improve the look greatly if the conquest wheel had been kept for that next generation. I think it would be neat to see one with our wheels. I also thought about putting the wheels on one of my old mopars to see what it would look like. what is the back spacing on the rear and front of the conquest wheel. Im not shure that the front wheel would fit on an old mopar because the center cap area may be built without enough clearance. has any one tried it?
  25. Did Mitsibushi carry the same bolt pattern on from the conquest to the mitsubushi 3000gt or stealth?
