  1. thanks man...if I cant make 320 or 300 with tb I'll settle for 280 or so. Again, this is not going to be a track car. I have an 11sec GSX 2 liter for that. I just want this to be a good non-daily driven car with enough power to get up and go when I want it to. I plan on having a/c, power steering basically all the creature comforts. My wife will probly be driving this around too as well as my little girls. This is what I am planning on now.. Head Banshee Cam HD Springs New Stock OEM Valves 1.6 Roller Rockers off 3.0 Engine New OEM Head Bolts Block New OEM Pistons Rock (Hastings) Rings Clevit Rod/Main Bearings ARP Rod Bolts -Unsure on the Main Studs- Balance Shafts will stay in Fuel Walbro 255 In Tank Suspesion Sportline Springs Adjustable Suspension off an 88 (Already have) Drive Train Stock except for 88-89 Tranny (Already have) Clutch Masters Clutch Items Needed Intercooler injectors stock turbo 88-89 ECU 83 Hood Misc New OEM WaterPump Sealed Power Oil Pump New Chains, Gears, guides MLS Head Gasket SS Line from fuel filter to tank I know I missed a bunch of stuff so feel free to chime in with ideas? Thanks again. I am ordering some of the smaller stuff today.
  2. I have decided to rebuild an 87 Conquest that has been sitting at my Grand mother's house for about 2 years now. Â The body is in good shape but it really needs a paint job. Â Anyhow, I figure I'd be a true quester and start with the engine...I dont want anything too graphic...just something that will support 18-20 psi and about 300 HP reliably with the crappy t-body injection. Â MPI is way too expensive. Â I'd like recommendations on what pistons to get...I'd like to use the stock rods as I have heard they are very strong. Â What do you guys suggest as far as rings, bearings etc...I'll be using a stock turbo for a while but might decide to slap on my SCM61 (680 HP) turbo off my eclipse if possible. Â Anyway, any help and or ideas is appreciated. Â edit...not to bash or anything but do we have any good alternatives to order engine components from TEP. Prices seem a bit high.
  3. When the devil saw this, even he said "dayum, thats a mean **tch" Â http://www.tappauto.com/images/picsvids/707pull.wmv I am not sure if this is a 1G swap, but if you can get around the crank walk issues, the 2G engine can make some nice power. Â This thing is daily driven! Â Unreal!
  4. It is a 4G63 Turbo...out of an eclipse, talon, laser or galant vr4...hopefully your freinds talon is a 90-94...2nd gens have a ton of problems with crank walk.
  5. NICE! Got stats on that car? It takes 8 hours to get into this thread now but that was worth it.
  6. Very nice set up...Excellent Work!! The only thing I am not sure of is the use of the cylcone intake. IMO, you may have been better off porting the stock 1G intake. From what I have read and seen, gains are minimal in the lower RPM range (under 4600rpm) and the top end is about the same as stock intake. What are you guys planning on doing with this car? If auto-xing is the target, then the cyclone might be somewhat worth it. I actually contemplated doing this swap in my old 89 Conquest before I took a ride in what was to be the doner car (see below) 90 AWD GSX. Needless to say, I changed my mind after that first lesson in AWD dynamics. Oh well, just my thoughts...hell of job though man. That is gonna be one hell of a ride.
  7. Nice ride KO...I bought one just like it (same color) not too long ago. Just wondering what you did on the springs? I know if you lower it with out the camber adjustment you'll wear the tires out sooner. I was thinking of dropping mine about an 1" or so with out the camber kit as well.
  8. Cool, thanks. I know of some people who have 245-45's on the 8" but not on the 7" so I thought I ask. The rear tires are 245-45's and are brand new. The fronts are just about gone...235's should be ok if I can find them. Thanks fellas.
  9. Can I fit 245/45 16's on the stock (front) rim on my 88 quest? Â Finally got her running...paid 500bucks for it. Â Is that blue color rare? Â I rarely see any, let alone ones that are blue. Â Sorry, this is the only pic I have of it thus far. Â The other car is my 12sec GSX (going thru a FMIC and clutch upgrade). Â Thanks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/pic9.jpg
