  1. I have a set of upgraded joints from napa. send a pm if interested. I think they were around $25 each but I will have to check. da.
  2. $125 pick up only - central fl or gainesville.
  3. in general I always start with battery connections and battery cables. then I look at fuel pressure. then pull the coil wire and check for spark. da.
  4. I have an 86 5spd. cheap. send a pm if interested. da.
  5. my maft has a dip switch that enables a simulated choke. it richens the mix for the first few minutes after the ignition as been fired. check to see if your maft is doing the same. da.
  6. I did this same mod years ago, maybe 6 or 7. so far so good. yeah, it was a pita. da.
  7. I've had a 17c for quite a while. its fine for the street and around town. I still prefer the super16g I had before so I will go back whenever I can. The boost rate on the 17c seems flat in comparison. da.
  8. yes, you can use those springs. throw out the cut springs. better yet, get a new set of eibach springs. da.
  9. I thought starquest turbo exh valves were sodium filled.
  10. tech, clean the "smudge" off your monitor. its an oil pump... da.
  11. cal first off, no one stated anything about an overheating problem. second, your opinion concerning the cost benefit of thermal coatings is completely irrelevant to this thread since you have no experience. its obvious that you feel the need to justify yourself by running up your post count so feel free to retaliate this post in the bs forum when you get tired of polishing your gun. I apologize to the contributing members of this thread for the detracting post. da.
  12. TR is right. sounds like you have a cooling or lubrication issue assuming your turbos were properly balanced to begin with. da.
  13. I had a new manifold and turbine housing coated with jethot 2000 about 9yrs ago. today there are some visible cracks, tiny flakes and discoloration - mostly on the turbine. fyi, jethot did not recommend any interior coating prior to the turbo. if any flaking occurs its bye-bye exhaust wheel. I also had my hardpipes coated in and out with standard jethot ceramic. besides normal wear and tear these have held up very well. da.
  14. sounds like one of the rear axles popped out of the differential unit. its only locked in by a c-clip on the shaft but once disengaged your not going anywhere. look under the car and see if the driveshaft is spinning while the tranny is in gear but the wheels don't turn.
  15. correct. besides a used one will not live long and given the massive pita that it is to replace I would just forget it. oh yeah, mitsu does not sell this part any longer either. decide what you want more - foot, face or defrost. reach under that dash with a ziptie and tie the actuator level where it needs to be. although, I have read a procedure for tearing one apart, repairing the diaphram (glue) and stick it back under there. sounds like a hokey and short term solution to me as well. good luck, da.
  16. I'm in no real hurry, I just would like it to be cheap. local is best - to avoid shipping costs. I have lots of stuff to trade if interested. da. central fl
  17. generally the 1g mas will work as a plug and play but sometimes you need to tune it in. here you have a couple options to allow it to flow more air and thus balance out your rich condition. 1) remove the mesh from the unmetered side (two round tubes) 2) unseal and adjust the calibration screw at the top of the unmetered tubes. I think I removed my screw altogether. 3) in stages port the unmetered side removing all obstructions and simply bore it out. 4) from the stock air can lid, retrofit the air bypass hose and adjuster. drill it out so you can manually calibrate it to bypass enough air to lean out the a/f ratio. I suggest removing the bov during adjustments to isolate any issues. da.
  18. kinda depends on the size of your throttle body. 2.5" pipes are hurting you if they end up necking down to 2" at the tb. da.
  19. bought these to fix a perceived problem but the problem was not my injectors so I'm going back to my old stockers. these injectors have under 1k miles on them and include all mounting hw. the o-rings should still be good. fit 87-89. $200 shipped. da.
  20. cool ride, I could never understand why they were only offered with an automatic.
  21. you can definitely use this on 88-89 models. my 88 has had one for several years without a problem. if this is the metalic gold (newer) model this is a very good price. if it is the older gray brick style (like mine) its probably not such a bargain. da.
  22. go to napa and ask for the joints w/o a grease fitting. if that doesn't work I will sell you my spare pair for $45 shipped. da.
  23. I probaby should have also mentioned the barely used set of trilogy injectors I have. I mean less than 100 miles! wendy might appreciate them. da.
  24. oops, its in the original post. its a used jv head. I can't even remember if it is bare or not. I do know it has the jv elim kit though. if it is not loaded I do have all the hydraulic hw except maybe the valve. if you are interested I will check into it. give me a call. da.
