yes you can run ignition on the megasquirt 2.2

51. Install and solder C12, the Ed capacitor (399-1818-1-ND, 0.001µF, 102 marking). The value of this capacitor may need to be increased if there are noise problems with the tach signal - values up to 0.1uf will work. The 0.001uf value is a good starting point.
Yes I do have this instaled.
I guess I will have to end up increasing it though.. :?

I'm useing the stock set up with Megasquirt for fuel only.
I've got it to run but the RPM's are all over the place in megatune and are fine on the stock tack.
I have the Megasquirt hooked to the stock wirer that go's to the - side of the coil. I all so ran another wire from the - side of the coil to the Megasquirt and it dose the same thing...
What am I missing or doing wrong???

Well I''ve got the Megasquirt 1 with the v3 board and it has the flyback board
built in to it.
So I should be all set then.

ok so are the stock injectors high-impedance or low-impedance?
The specs in the sevice manual says there low, but I've seen everyone setting up the Megasquirt for high-impedance.
Or am I jest missing some thing here....

This will be going on my 89.
I am running with 2 secondaries so I'm set there.
I've been Studying the wiring diagrams, but wasn't sure if I needed to have every thing that wasn't going to the Megasquirt still pluged into the stock ECU or not.
But if I under stand this right I should cut the wires that are needed for the Megasquirt and leave every thing eles pluged into the stock ECU.
Am I right on this?

I'm thinking about trying it.
I want to run the Megasquirt for fuel and use the stock ignition. Can this be done?
