  1. Are there any starquesters' around the erie PA area???
  2. Thanks for the reply. today is payday so I will give it a shot
  3. I will write a damn novel on my final fix if I ever get there. I realize most of you have been doing this for longer than I have been alive, but for a 21 year old I have alot of automotive experience. and I can not figure this out. Kenny, thanks for the post but my spark is good, no issues there. Does anybody have any other ideas? I could replace the ecu, but I have put so much money in parts already. any other ways to test the ecu? atleast the fuel control part of it? I dont want to waste anymore money on a guess, I also dont have the equipment to measure hertz at the injector clips. Most parts ive replaced were worn, so not a complete waste. but STILL Again, good spark, good, fuel, timing is where it needs to be. Looks like too much fuel while cranking. I just want my starion guys...... 60k miles, beautiful interior and decent body. Im sure atleast a few of you can understand where im coming from.
  4. 88 starion. why do you ask?
  5. starfyter, Was his problem exactly the same as mine? Mine died while driving at WOT, was also overheated on the side of the road. what happened to his?
  6. No kidding?? well, I will give it a shot. I found an ecu for 90$ shipped. Oh, I understand thanks. No injector wires grounding out with the ecu unplugged.
  7. And I understand the overall point, but what is a "sneak circuit"? Never heard that term before. thanks as always
  8. I took the ecu out, opened it up. The seal was clearly never broken, no moisture or residue in the box. nothing looked fried or burnt. I will check for ground after work while it is still out of the car.
  9. Thanks for all the reply's guys. Yes, after a little research ive ruled out the ignitor. The fpr is good, no fuel in the vac line and it holds soild vaccum, I can feel that the diaphragm is good. I was hoping to hear an ecu was a common problem, but if not, I doubt mine has gone bad. But its pretty much the only thing left. I will pop the cover off and take a look at the internals of the ecm. unless something is obvious I dont have much experience with circuit boards. Anything else you guys could think of that would cause excess injector spray?
  10. Yeah... Im starting to think the same thing. Ive done a little digging and the black box dosent seem like it would cause such an issue. Can I test the signals coming out of the ECU? Can I find that in the fsm? Also, is a toasted ecu surprising on an 88? And yes, the cts is new.
  11. So after 2 brand new injectors and injector clips, the car is still dumping fuel, flooding the engine. Im thinking the ignitor box, my fuel injectors have no pulse, the fuel just dumps out at a consistent rate. Sound about right for a bad knock box?
  12. Will buy, I sent you a PM.
  13. Thank you! I will check it out. A timing job seems do-able without pulling the motor
  14. Car still does not run, I have good spark, and good fuel for sure. Thinking the car may have jumped a tooth, how can I check for this? Is there a way to line up the crank in correlation to the distributor? Please help! thanks.
  15. With good spark and fuel im guessing it jumped a tooth. The chain is tight but how could I test to make sure?
  16. Got my trilogy injectors 5 days after I ordered them. They fit in the throttle body kinda loosely, trilogy provided spacers for the throttle body because the injectors are too tall. Not as clean as factory injectors but Oh well. Replaces both injector clips also. Car still does not run.. not sure where to go from here. Thinking maybe vacuum advance? ideas?
  17. ha.. I had a post in the items wanted, and on here. but its all good. Let me know if your interested, there is a external leak on the primary so not sure what you would do with them. But let me know I suppose
  18. Well thanks for the heads up, I went ahead and ordered a set of trilogy 650/ 950cc's We will see how they work, I will post it. shipping from trilogy is 3 to six weeks. holy cow! not cool.
  19. Oh yes, made my day. ?I couldn't find em anywhere
  20. The primary leaks externally, and they both leak internally flooding the motor and causing a no start. And wow! mr. far north up there thanks a ton, those are perfect. I looked on ebay and didnt see those? anyways in a week I should have that money and hopefully problem solved.
  21. Its an 1988. 650 and 950 are what I thought. Think I may have found a set from someone on here. Lots of injector sites, but none seem to have what im looking for
  22. Cant seem to get my hands on a set of factory injectors. What after market injectors work well on a stock setup? Not looking for performance gains, mine are just leaky. Also what cc are the stock injectors? Thanks
  23. Looking for a set of working, factory injectors. 1988 starion, esi-r (814) 969 9879 thanks
