  1. Rechecked timing and it's correct. I did a compression test and all the cylinders are between 120-125. It still just cranks over. I ran out of ideas. Should I replace the ecu and ECI relay? That's only thing left to do unless anyone has any ideas what else I can check
  2. I'm going to do that when I get a compression tester
  3. I'll check again for timing. The car does not start at all. I have to check compression also. I was thinking about getting another ecu and ECI relay after I recheck things again. Will give an update as soon as next week since I'll be working
  4. And I meant the ECI relay was arcing inside when lightly tapping it
  5. Yes when I lightly tap the distributor the fuel pump turns on and spark comes out only from the ignition coil when being tapped
  6. Well the fuel pump does not activate when the ignition switch is on but activates while cranking. The injector is spraying fuel. The fuel is 3 months old. I will double check spark again. My car is a 89. Made weird discovery just now. I was moving the distributor back and forth with the ignition switch on the on position and the fuel pump turned on for a quick second and spark came out of the ignition coil. I started hammering the aluminum part of the distributor lightly and the fuel pump keeps turning on and spark out of the ignition coil. Then lightly hit the ecu and nothing but hit the ECI relay and saw spark coming out. Any suggestion about this and what to do next
  7. Forgot about compression. Gotta get a compression tester and check compression
  8. Currently I've been trying to get my car started but it's just cranking. Last month I was able to get it running but it was misfiring. Now during the time it was running I've replaced the distributor, Maf, spark plug wire. The spark plugs are fairly new. The distributor , MAF and spark plug wires were used parts but the car is still misfiring like before so there's no change. Today, I have fuel, spark and my mechanical and distributor timing are correct. Don't know what else to check for, maybe a sensor that prevent the car to start. Any input will be helpful. When I was checking for spark it seems like the spark is weak. I got shocked a few times checking spark which I was able to tolerate. Don't know if weak spark is possible or not. Maybe a faulty ignition coil, guess I'm gonna try to replace that next
  9. Unable to start a new topic for some reason. Currently I've been trying to get my car started but it's just cranking. Last month I was able to get it running but it was misfiring. Now during the time it was running I've replaced the distributor, Maf, spark plug wires and spark plugs are fairly new. The distributor , MAF and spark plug wires were used parts but the car is still misfiring like before so there's no change. I believe it's not a ECI issue. Today, I have fuel, spark, and my mechanical and distributor timing are correct. Don't know what else to check for, maybe a sensor that prevent the car to start. Any input will be helpful. Thanks
  10. Sorry bandy, I've already purchased one
  11. Would like to know a price for a working condition igniter box for a 89

  14. As long it's in good condition I'll take it. PPaypal address ucw458
  15. Hey 87redcat, let me get your paypal address to purchase your hose. Thanks
  16. Hey 87redcat I'm interested in the hose but i want to wait til i find a MAF first before getting your hose. If i cant get a MAF then I'm gonna have to decide what I'm going to do with the car
  17. Need these items in good condition please. Turbo to air can hose could be either aftermarket or stock. Let me know what's your price
  18. Do you have a good working condition distributor? If so, how much
  19. I've checked the fusible link for corrosion and it's in good shape. It also gets voltage at both ends. Now that you mentioned it, need to figure out why voltage is not getting to the ECI control relay from the fusible link
  20. My car started deacclerating out of nowhere. When I put the car in neutral it shut off but was able to get start it back up by jump starting it since the car was still rolling. Manage to get home and then the next day, I try to start it and it just cranks over. I've checked the ECI fusible link and it looks good as well as the rest of them except for black fusible link that I haven't checked. I was using my power probe and with the ignition switch on, I was only getting power to the blue wire that goes into the ECI control relay. I get no power to the ecu and to the fuel pump. I powered probe the fuel pump and it does turn on. Is the ECI fusible link suppose to send power to the control relay at all times or only when the ignition switch is on? I've check a few grounds and they look fine expect one which is hanging on there with a few wires. I believe that ground wire is by the egr valve. I have the service manual for this car and if you guys can be detailed as you can be I would appreciate it. Due to the lack of time I have of having 2 jobs I would not get another chance to troubleshoot the car til hopefully this weekend or next week. Any info from everyone will be helpful and I will reply back when I get the chance. By the way on the service manual, what does the abbreviation means for ST and AM on the ignition switch part. Thank you
