  1. looking like a solid deal GLWS
  2. well at least another silver quest was saved from the boneyard its one of my favorite colors for the quests
  3. well tearing out trans to see what i did wrong..........
  4. I am wagering a bet that that may be my issue speedy. My flywheel and clutch are out of a 87 and my car is a 88 including trans and clutch hook ups. And it really does look like my rod in my slave cylinder is too short. Where the 87 and older slave cylinder rods longer because i know the flywheels and clutches are? If so i need one like yesterday hopefully speedy or moving on have one handy!
  5. I was thinking about it and also going to pull boot off to check if the shaft is still on its perch that goes from the slave cylinder to the release bearing. My slave is moving but my pedal never feels like its even against the clutch. Torque bolts is possible but with that I would think u could feel the release bearing against the clutch with some resistance in the pedal. I will pull the boot to get a idea The slave is moving quite a bit will little to no pedal pressure
  6. its possible but the easier thing to check first i think is rebleed the line maybe i got some air its not like my pedal is tight but i got a thread in virtual mechanic so i do clutter speedy's thread here
  7. its possible for air i will try that some more tomarrow tho
  8. its moving but its only filling the space too the clutch from the release bearing and only slight pressure on the clutch. and my clutch pedal wont travel all the way up on its own only to the spring
  9. I have gotten my power steering hooked up and hood half --------------- sanded and spray bombed satin black. I plan on doing a better job this fall with better quality paint. I also hooked up my clutch systems bed it pumped the hell out of it and its working but its not adjusting for the slack so the travel isnt enough to engage the clutch and on this i am not sure how to fix it so i stoped on it for tonight i will break out the service manual tomarrow
  10. I been putting in a motor in my 88 conquest. I did put a 87 flywheel and clutch on it with a new release bearing. I have bled the line and pump the crap out of the clutch pedal and my slave is moving. The problem is I am not getting enough travel to pick up the slack and to engage the clutch. With hydraulic I am not sure if you can adjust where the engagement is like on a cable system. What can i do to correct the problem.
  11. Got the quest running tonight finally now to just get everything buttoned up and I will be on my way this weekend
  12. speedyquest and moving it swung by today and we messed with some wiring and got the quest running tonight. So that is done now just to get everything buttoned up and ready for the MN cookout.
  13. I had 1 wire hooked wrong is the reason it wouldnt turn over but it not firing. Speedy is suppose to come by tomarrow to help me figure it out. I can turn key and check engine at the same tire fire fuel etc.
  14. nice wish that was close to me lol
  15. nice wish that was close to me lol
  16. Fun....................I got the engine all hooked up minus the radiator and i still got some exhaust work to do but I tried to start it last night and it wont crank. What color is the plug that goes on the starter? I am questioning myself on hooking it up right. But first thing is first today I am going to start by checking fuses. I noticed my fogs arnt working either but i am not positive if they work anyway. But its getting there
  17. So I recently picked up a 2nd job at a junkyard as a mechanic fixing stuff they have around the yard. I ran by this 95 BMW 318ti and asked if it had a clear title and the story. Title was clear and the anti theft was preventing the car from starting. So I told him I wanted to work out a deal for it to work it off. That nite I went home googled the problem and read up on how to by pass the antitheft and when i got around to working on it took dash apart jumped 2 wires and bam it fired up. Now its solid but its very ratty. Chinsey interior plastic went to s*** seats are rough no radio and some other cosmetic issues but it is very solid. It was a south carolina car so its not rusty. Being in wisconsin that is a big plus. This is the first german car i ever owned and first BMW i ever drove and I am getting it realatively cheap. I just have to swap 3 trannys for it which really isnt a big deal. 2wd ford truck and a couple ford focus trans i beleive. And i will drive the wheels off it. It be good fun car race car material but for now i just want to drive it. Here is a couple pics http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/duko111/IMG_20140816_142711_775.jpg http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/duko111/IMG_20140816_165324_614.jpg
  18. https://chicago.crai...4611389799.html I actually really like the color on the roller ............must resist temptation to trade something for these lol. I really dont need another project but i really like that color! GLWS
  19. Well its getting real close to being ready to fire. I am think i should be about to get it to the point of starting after i am done working at the yard tomarrow. I have most everything mounted now but I still got everything inbetween. Electrical is hooked up but still need to get the vaccum run plug wires few cooling lines and piping. Here is a pic of how it sits now. http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/duko111/IMG_20140815_205445_166.jpg
  20. Got the underneath pretty much done. Most of the electrical is hooked up alternator is in but i want to get a new belt before i actually tighten alternator down. Jetvalve elimination is done and valve cover is one. From here on it should go fairly fast. Going to need Speedy's help saturday though for sure if nothing else it takes 2 to bleed brakes. I hadnt bleed system since i put my master cylinder on it.Other things left other than motor that needs doing. I still need to paint hood Satin black and front rims need to be painted flat white to match the rears i had already done. Not totally sure if this will be final color or rims but I will be redoing paint on them this winter anyway since I will be replacing tires this year also.
  21. That and my boss at work i think it getting irritated from my mini van leaking trans fluid in the parking lot lols so since this is going to be all redone ill drive that till i get my toyota going for winter. my mini van trans seal is starting to go. And my quest better not leak motor has a new complete gasket set and seals and new powersteering lines lol. I dont want any more marking territories!
  22. Ok finally back at it. Been the gather parts game. I would think i have all the parts then find I need something else only to have to order that and wait but now i think I have pretty much all i need. I got the motor mostly together and dropped in and bolted down. Now Its just getting it all hooked up and then hope it fires again without mishap. Here is a shot how she sits today http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/duko111/IMG_20140813_201457_294.jpg
  23. LOL ok problem solved lol it was installer error see this is why i ask!
  24. Ok swapping my old quest engine into my roller quest that is in better shape and when my belt isnt ling up and i am not sure why. I don't remember moving the pulley in or out so before i mess with that i took photo for you guys to tell me if i forgot something. If so let me know thx.http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/duko111/IMG_20140813_195930_905.jpg
