  1. I see you are trying to express your intelligence over members of the Marine Corps by using big words that are misspelled but what you don't and probably can't understand is the yelling is mainly only in bootcamp and it's purpose isn't to tell you what to do and think. It's purpose is to get you THINK normally and LEARN under stressful conditions, extremely stressful situations. Also it's purpose is to make you understand you're PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY stronger than what you think and to push your perceived limits. If your only experience with bootcamp is watching Full Metal Jacket, yeah, you come up with the idiotic speculation you just came up with. I was encouraged to be as creative and individual as I ventured to be, also to continue to push my physical and mental boundries. So let me clear something up for you, bootcamp has some yelling for the first month, second maybe then that's it. I never got yelled at during active duty, mainly because I was an individual and free thinker. If I was a gambling man, I'd bet you tried to get in and was denied, bitter. So, stop talking out of your tail.

Oh yeah what words are misspelled exactly? I don't think you know how to spell exactly. And second of I'm am just trying to prove a point using facts. No trying to sound smart, just spoke of what exactly is done there. Spoke to plenty of friends to get the gist of boot camp. They teach you how to become a good little drone while making you think you are being creative. I have never tried to get in and have no bitterness. Why? Because I went to school and college to get an education.

  2. Carquest sells fusible link wire. Buy that and on connectors

Then get a guage of fusible like 2 guages down from the wire you are protecting, so for a brown link you would need 16 guage fusible link wire.

A Brown fusible link is used to protect an 18ga wire.

A Green fusible link is used to protect a 16ga wire.

A Red fusible link is used to protect a 14ga wire.

A Black fusible link is used to protect a 12ga wire.

  3. well, first off...mistapickels... you forgot that you were issued suntan lotion and sunglasses out in Cali.lol

Parris Island is where it began. nuff said.

and quickstarion... were you in the Marines? or in the service at all? a lot of people can talk the talk. but when it comes down to it, its all about the training. Ive been out over 20 yrs now and can still pick up a rifle and shoot bulls at 500 yds all day long. the ones that drop out are mentally incapable of withstanding the daily mental beating giving out by the Drill Instructors. others fail due to physical problems. Being a Marine is more than wearing a uniform. Its a state of mind, knowing that you are part of the worlds smallest and yet toughest fighting force on the planet. Yes the graduation rate is high. Recruiters help keep that in check too. The process starts with them. Used to be, they would take anybody. But times have changed. They will not take you without your high school diploma. and good God, they wont take you with tats. Marines are who we are, a band of brothers that stick together to the end...

dont mean to offend anyone here, just my thoughts on the matter.

So you learned how to use a tool that has no application outside the military sounds great. Also those who wouldn't conform mentally to being told what to think and having no opinions of their own were weeded out, sounds even better. That state of mind is having a blank mind doing what you are told and what your state of mind is. Those who choose not to submit to deindividuation are deemed not good enough because they make creating cognitive dissonance harder for the military leaders. So if you want to make sweating your tail off in a humvee while some dude yells at you or sweating your tail of while you run around while some dude yells at you, sound like the best time of your life go ahead, but I'm not drinking the coolaid.

  4. I am getting clouds of smoke smells like oil of varying intensity out of the exhaust on deceleration while in gear. I am thinking that my PCV or Catch Can need to be replace/cleaned? My valve stem seals are brand new, unless I installed them wrong or mashed them?
  5. HEY WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY? jk i love the usa, Canada's auto world is pitifully and pree much non existent but cross boarder fees and taxes are crazy for example it cost me 44.94 to ship a 3 piece bsek kit from dad and 22.63 on top for fees and taxes

You should have someone in the us receive parts for you and ship them out in big bundles.

  6. I was in from 86 to 92. tats wernt a biggie back then as they are now. My former OIC's son wanted to enlist but had half sleeves. Both the recruiter and his father wrote letters to CMC. He was rejected because of his tats. His father was a CWO4. He spent over 20 years in the Corps with an outstanding career, including wearing a hat as a DI. Made no difference to some pencil pusher at HQ.

I say go talk to the recuiter. If its just one tat, you may get in. I wish you luck in your pursuits. Takes a hell of a person to become a Marine. They dont say "The Few, The Proud" for nothing.

Semper Fi to all my fellow quest Marines.

And to answer you other question... best part of my life. Keep your mouth shut and listen in boot camp and you will be fine. I was a 1345 heavy equipment operator. Spent 3 yrs State side and 3 yrs in Oki. Loved every minute!

Good luck and let us know how it goes

I mean not really pass rate for Marine bootcamp is 90%-95% which is pretty much the majority of those who enlist, pass.

  7. It happened suddenly after a acceleration run from 20-60mph. Just manual swapped the car. Poly trans mount engine mounts wouldn't just become that noticeable. Balance shafts eliminated. No new plugs or anything car ran fine for 20miles after swap. I've had some lifter tick before I didn't take care of because focused on other things. Kind of sounds close to rod knock could maybe be a miss, but goes away after 2.5k and no metal in the oil and oil pressure is good. Knock sensor is unplugged. The plug got ripped.

What does a flywheel out of balance feel like?

  8. and this is what he said back and he didn't answer all my questions "I have had this for over 10 years so I can't remember all of the particulars exactly. I believe the engine had less than 150k on it and the head cracked. It was torn down and I bought it like that. It could be run as is or rebuilt as I had planned. The trans is out of a D50 and I don't remember the mileage but I pulled it from a running truck and it drove fine and shifted well. The flywheel is a 240mm and has never been run. I hope this works. Let me know what else you need. "

wow that is all useless stuff then. besides the flywheel. Offer him 150 max and walk away.
