    Actually the alternator I found was one out of a 3g DSM and its only 95amps but it is a direct bolt in. just need to rewire a little.

     

    As for as the capacitor goes yea I feel the same way but i got it for free with the 3 alpine mrv500 amps i bought so who cares toss it in there wont hurt.

    Only running one of those and alpine 3527 40x4 so 95 amps is enough. you can only run so much power thru wires any way. And my 44 year old here hurt when i trun it up loud any way.

     

     

    Thats funny, haha, but I would seriously sell the compasitor, I forget exactly all the lingo behind it(I'm a go fast guy before sound guy) but, I rememebr talking to multiple experts who told me essencially If your not running a BIG system they are useless and most times rob your system of energy. I'll talk to my buddy, hes huge into this stuff, I'll get back to ya on the Compasator BS, but seriously good luck with the alternator, I'm all for being proven wrong. I have seen to many cars loose practicality with little alternators.

I don't know if this is really relivent but when I did the tear down the engine had not run in about a week but I seen that the cylinder wall of cylinder 1 was bone dry, like dry as a desert dry, all the others had oil on them. ALSO thinking back to its first vencher on the road while in my possession I believed over heated. I'm pissed I droved it now that I think about it. But it doesn't have a temp gauge but it was blowing heat into the cabin while driving. No matter what the climate control setting. Fans off. still heat. And it was at my feet that I could feel it so I was scared. I was doing 50ish so I didn't see smoke. BUT another time i was driving I did, and it was coolant overflowing and hitting hot surfaces. I later thought it was a mild electrical fire thing as it seemed to be only when my lights where on, and the second I turned the car off to check it was gone. SO idk If any of that sounds familiar, I would love to hear it.
  3. lol thank you, yes the compression test is useless. point is there were all uniform. Two is I'm doing a swap. so fark these motors I'll do a tear down just let you guys know.

     

    patra, If the hard surfaces in the head were bad they would eat the cams hardsurfaces. I don't need a magnet because I know it was all metal.

     

    Kyle also did a balance shaft delete? if he didn't balance the crank, you would hear it. same with a spun bearing. and like I said, I heard nothing, The oil was air rated on the dipstick when I checked it after running, so yeah blow by was an issue. It also detonated a couple times, I thought cyclinder 3 was the issue, but now I'm at a loss.

  4. K so here it goes I have a 1989 Chrysler Conquest SHP Tsi, I tore it apart this weekend to try and find the issue. My car has been running on 3 Cylinders sense I bought it, Cylinder 3 being the problem, It would hate being above 2k but held 14PSi fine and spooled fine until my boost gauge dumped. I have a 16g turbo also. No play in turbo what so ever, spools and holds boost fine. So I tear it apart and find about 1-2mm of metal sludge lining the bottom of my head. Stock and stock hardware to what I'm aware of. It was really bad, Like A LOT of metal shavings, like I said it lined the bottome of the head. The previous owner(Krazy K) installed "forged Pistons". SO I was worried about the bottom end being fracked, There is a gouge in cyclinder 2's cylinder wall. Its a pretty nasty gouge too. Thats all I've seen bad, I forgot to open throttle when compression testing so I saw 105 105 105 and 100 as my results, The head shows no signs of wear, the cam has perfect hard surfaces so I'm pretty dumb founded, It didn't knock or anything, It has a loose flywheel but that would explain how metal got into oil. My dad says Turbo? but, I seriously doubt it. Thoughts? It doesn't really matter I guess I'm planning a 6G72 swap for this car. But its awhile away so Just entertaining thoughts.

    P.S. Oil Change has maybe 70 miles on it.

  5. Thanks, I didn't even think of that its 225 front 245 back, SHP!!!! I feel bad now becasue I'm seriously looking at a 6g72 swap. My spare motor needs the cylinder walls cleaned up, and the motor in it needs machine work :( thinking that a stock 6g2 would be more fun than sticking money into a 4g54.
  6. I have a good block, The top of the cylinders need some love(light light rust) I'll clean it up and ship if you pay, shows hone marks, and the way the head looked It cant have more than 60k. It sat for awhile thats why the rust has set in, but definatly still good. Let me know.
  7. I Bought this car from Krazy K, a couple months ago. I joined Immediatly because I know how crucial these forums can be. I had It on a lift a week after I bought it and was, shocked and heart broken. I bought a car from a DPO of epic preportions. It looked like the car had seen three wars and barely made it out alive. I wanted to sell it, I wanted to kill kyle. But after talking to you guys and my friends I found support and realized, This is MY car. I wanted a project and found it. I couldn't have asked for a better car for it to be. After reading about these cars 89 is the one I wanted and I have it. I can't wait to get her back on the road.

     

    I have loads of questions, but this is by far the best car community I have ever witnessed and hope that I can Contribute. Thanks guys, You created another die hard starquest fan!

  8. Thats funny, is a dart a truck, lol. Me and my buddys are BMW guys, I like anything thats cool, so 80's Jap cars have a quiet a few spots on that list. Anyways, My buddy has a 1976 BMW 2002, Very cool car if you know what it is, his brother has a minty fresh 1981 BMW 320i, I get more atention than both of them ;) I barely have drivin the quest too but everyone stares. It must be leading cause in car crashes.
  9. Hi, Im selling my Chrysler Conquest Tsi. The car has a striaght body but a little bit of rust. Its nothing to bad but you can tell it sat outside. The car has 68k on the chassis and shows it underneath. Its super clean and has almost no rust at all. I won't BS you, it needs work. The previous owner was a complete DPO and lied about alot of the car. I planned on it being a project but due to family issues I need it gone unfortunatly. You couldn't ask for a better canidate for a project tho. The cars issues is that it has a wrecked flywheel that keeps coming loose. I have barely drove it sense I found out it came loose again. I installed a brand new clutch, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and changed all fluids. all of which has seen less than 60 miles. The previous owner installed forged pistons, bigger turbo(believed to be big16dsm from what he told me) and bigger injectors, as well as deleted ABS, air conditioning, as well as the balance shaft. The motor has 47k on it approximatly. I did a compression test to find cylinders 1 threw 3 putting up 105psi and cylinder at 100psi. The previous owner also swapped the automatic to a manual, and put 8 inch wide stockers, with eibach springs and tokiko struts all the way around. The car runs a little rough but I think its the cold blooded TBI with bigger injectors, as it gets better once it warms up. It drives fine, shifts fine, slight pull to the right but I think its the Shirty tires that are out of balance, or need alinment, The suspension is tight. The car is missing some trim peices. Nothing major, the photos show all its flaws. I'm suprised but everything works like it should. I believe it has a short somewhere tho, it kills the battery even with it just sitting. Havn't looked into it but I'm sure its nothing serious. I havn't owned the car for long so I don't know it that well but I assure you I'm not trying to screw anyone and I just want this car to go to someone who can fix it up like it deserves. If you have any questions or requests feel free to ask. The car also comes with a spare motor, without a turbo I believe is the original so 66-7k on it. I have about 5 computers 2 of which are ECMs. I have two 5 speeds, a diff, 4 derivshafts(2 auto, 2 manual), starters, blower motors, a dash, a hatch with glass, a hood(bent up), a fender, a SHP rear wheel(also beat up) alot of odds and ends like tail lights trim peices, weatherstripping. I feel like I'm missing stuff so please ask questions! thanks for looking.

     

    For the whole lot I'm asking $1800 You know and I know the money is there, I am open to offers, trades, whatever you have in mind, it just has to drive well.
