  1. Well was it the Caravan module? I have the same problem and have changed everything except the caravan module.
  2. Thanks for the info, that stuff was great. It couldn't help me though. I should've mention since I'm running MPI using FIP setup, I use a Caravan module that takes the place of the igniter (not igniter/knock box) inside the dizzy that attaches to the coil pickup. Unlike the stock part this one has a board with transitors inside. I may have to take it somewhere to test. Thanks
  3. Does anyone know how to test the igniter or ignition module that's inside the dizzy? Thanks.
  4. Well, I have a Bosch and coudn't get it to work right so now I'm going to get a pre '93 Ford PWM. Those are supposed to be easier to work with. Rigt now I'm having a problem with possibly the ignition. When it warms up after about 20 minutes, it starts to stall and buck. If I turn it off, it won't start until it's completely cold. i'm thinking either the coil or ign module. After I figure this out then I'll work on the idle valve again. Good luck with yours.
  5. Sorry I already installed it when I read this. It's not easily accessable to take a pic. I should've taken one or two after I drilled and tapped the hole.
  6. Jah Jah, After looking closer at my MPI, I can put one on the back side. I think that's what I'll do. It'll look cleaner and be out of the way. Thanks.
  7. I would consider that but mine is too close to the firewall. It'll be easier to just drill through one if the existing threaded holes and use that.
  8. Hey Chad, I wasn't too concerened where the air would come in but if I should actually reuse one of those threaded holes or start a new one. You recommend useing one of them so that's what I'll do. I'll have to step down from the huge hole on the PWM Valve down to 3/8. Thanks
  9. I have a Magna MPI on my Quest motor which is in a Dodge Raider. I want to drill and tap a hole to install a Bosch 2 wire PWM. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4075/4761270191_e8c9932fd7_m.jpg My question is does it matter where I place the hole on the MPI? On the MPI there are two tapped holes that don't go all the way through as if they're mounting holes for the original setup. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3363/3245681144_99a0b9dc91_m.jpg Should I drill a bigger hole completely through, and retap or should I drill in a flat spot? Thanks.
  10. I already got the one I need. It's a big bugger. It's for a '95 and works in several cars. It seems to work as you described. On the original car it seems to work with variable voltage. it opens wide and as the car warms up it closes until it reaches idle. the FIP setup uses one wire that is a switched ground. That wire goes to the ground on the idle control. So there's always switched power to the idle control, when the engine warms up, the ECU opens the ground shutting off the IC. I need to hook it up and adjust at what temp the ground opens. The Raider doesn't need to get to 165F to idle fine.
  11. Are you using a relay for the FIDLE? I read somewhere if you use a Bosch fast idle you won't need to use a relay. No one seems to know what the small current is that the pink wire can handle. Angel
  12. Hey guys, I think I'm going to cancel. I'm going to try to get the wide band tuned locally instead. I don't want to drive that far with the only vehicle I've got running. Today on the way from work, the clutch cable or pedal went south. That's my daily driver so now I have to drive the raider. I try not to drive the raider daily because 19mpg isn't easy on the wallet. I won't be able to try to fix the car until the weekend. Sorry guys. Angel
  13. Hey since Neil probably won't make it, he was going to help me tune a wide band o2. Does anyone know how to do this that's going to the meet? Angel
  14. Sorry to not have chimed in about the date. May 9th is fine. I don't know if I'll be dyno'n any, but I look forward to meeting all of you and seeing south fl. Angel Carlo
  15. Great, I look forward to see you guys. AC
