  1. Can someone please tell me what I did !! I think I have been a member for a few years...but for some reason I cannot start a new content. This is new! Who did I anger! Please respond to edwforrest@gmail.com because I cannot get into the forums...and have questions about vibrations in the front end when tie rods are good and wheels are tight and bearings are repacked! Appreciate it...who do ya call when this doesn't work! ed

  3. I need to replace the cover on the rear bumper of the ESI-r. Please...where do I start to remove the bumper? Where are the bolts? I don;r see 'em!
  4. Thank you for responding. It just seems "flat" throughout the range. It's like one plug isn't firing...but that is not the case. I changed cap and rotor, wires and plugs and the thing wants to pull up to 5,000-5,550...but it seems like it is struggling. The plugs all have a nice "burn". Any chance this could be a "clogged" cat converter?? Is changing the throttle positioning sensor an "yes" or "no" thing...there is no "adjustment" or "test"...right? Do I sit behind the tailpipe and see if I get blown away??!!! Thanx...ed

I am going backwards with the ESI-r...trying to understand if I need to change injectors...to what!!??? If I adjust valves...do I disable the jet valves...stuff like that.   8. OK...I am back! My wife had surgery and I have just not had time to think about anything like "fun". The advance is working plugs gapped and re-gapped. I am not sure how to approach finding a hairline. Can this be valve adjustment? The engine seems t clear out at 4-5,000...it's jus getting there that is 'rough' like a miss. I changed the coil, wires, cap and rotor which DID help. Valve adjustment possible???

  10. Hey guys... There are two pix here. The first shows the rotor button...is this normal??? The second one has a yellow tie wrap on the 4" hose near the disty. Please...where does this attach? Thx...
  11. Working around the distributor I see a rotor with three segments...it is only "hitting" on 1 and 1/2 ...the third one has no "shine" to it. The first one looks like it is hitting and the second one is pitted. The tabs in the distributor also look corroded. This is an easy first step... 2.) There is a 4" vacuum hose that Is not connected. It is attached to a manifold with three other vacuum hoses. I wish I could find the place here to attach pictures. Anyone have a suggestion where this 4 vac hose goes ??? (near the distributor but not long enough to reach the advance tab) 3.) I cannot attach pix...right?? Thx....ed
  12. Thanks, Jimmy...advance is working. I ordered a cap and rotor...if that does get it then I'll get a distributor...change the fuel filter...basics first..just so may of them. thx all

  15. Hello, folks! When this engine is cool, maybe for the first 30 minutes, it has what I always thought was a turbo lag. After an hour or so, there is a miss between 3,000 and 4,500. It will "pull through" the miss...but it's almost like something thermal is influencing the ignition. Or, a fuel filter? New plugs, new wires and I see that someone replaced the injector clips. These leads are both white...could they be crossed??? Is this a coil going out? There is a new ignition module on eBay...is this the next step? Thx...
  16. Fuze... Vacuum advance is good. Your advice to block off the blow off valve fixed it. I had a radio installed and the shop rewired the ignition side of the battery. He must have knocked off the vac hose. It I nice. Thank you for the pix. Are the connections on the ISC/MPS simple 'push on'??? Are you still using the original injectors? I was told there are Acura injector that update. Is this 'accurate'!! Thx

  19. To all...the distributor has vacuum. The plugs all show a consistent color: They are new with about 100 miles. Here is something the vacuum line at the blow off valve is not connected. Where does it connect or does it not? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fuze...what is the TB and ISC and TBS connections??? Thx, ed

  21. Hey guys...I think this is...what you call...a 'rando'. It was not, as someone mentioned...johnnywadd...or any of the names I have seen as 'regulars'. Frankly, I am a little spooked by the entire transaction. I have gone to authorities and taken appropriate steps. Here are some good pieces of advice: 1.) One of you suggested that many forum transactions are done through PayPal. This predator 'demanded' Western Union. Local authorities explained to me that with a WU confirmation number the transfer can be accessed anywhere in the world. In this case, even though phone calls came from a NY area phone...the call could be from anywhere. In this case the caller and Starquest member wanted another $100 wired to Nigeria , Yep...a new twist on the secretary to the late prime minister who wants to transfer $5,000,000,000! So...all my future transactions will be PayPal or COD! 2.) If a webmaster can ID him/herself...contact via private and I will advise 3.) I agree with all...this place needs to be a safe place. PS: I think I found another bumper...it's about another $250-300. I do not understand how these lads do not mind hurting others. I just do not 'get it. Thx for responses and concerns .... ed
  22. Hello, Starquest: On or about the 27th of July I posted the need for a rear bumper. I have 42 email documents...and the bottom line is the "keg" has a bad apple. A commitment t sell and ship at agreed price transitioned through "I will today" to "I will tomorrow" to "Sorry Ihat I had hospital stay" to "I am shipping from my shop the UK to "Send another $100 to Nigeria" No refunds....but I "am" a jerk because I will not send more $$$. I have been on eBay since the time when there was no 'safety net" and yes, I did get ripped off once or twice Maybe I am alone but there is a predator on Starquest Be careful .. I trusted this guy...and his kind words. Be careful...this is not the warm-fuzzy-place that is eBay and my 100% rating over more than 70 purchases belies. Yep I created a "fraud alert" at Western Union and have a 09:30 appointment with local fraud department at a decent police department. Contacting two Federal agencies....
  23. Thanks to all for suggestions. I will start simple with vacuum advance line. I have owned this car since day one..so some things just seem too o b v i o us ! For example, I am not getting more than 3 # of boost at the gauge. The engine kicks in...when it does...and it is strong enough to stay with a Mustang...that kinda strong:) Where is the boost gauge line conected? Thnx again...ed
