  2. once upon a time i joined the forum cause i had a 89 conquest.   5. dont ask me how but my steering gear box is POURING atf from the wormshaft seal.... im assuming something is broken inside? if indeed i did break something. are there any COMMON steering boxes that will interchange with the starquest? its an 89 if that makes a difference thanks cad
  6. thanks for the fast shipping last time do you have a hood and a black plastic trim piece that goes under the headlights? also the interior piece that covers the radio up to the center consel (spl?) thanks again cad
  7. both of my radiator fans would not come on so the smaller fan on the i was able to get to come on with some creative rewiring however the larger one will not come on ... i see 3 wires in the clip ... sending power to the larger wire i get no power out of the black or the red wire the condenser fan is pretty obvious. one wire in one wire out so question one... the smaller fan has 4 wires and only 2 (pos - ground) will get the fan to come on what are the other 2 wires??? second question... the larger fan has 3 wires .... what are they ? im assuming since i cant get 12v out of any of them my fan is bad?
  8. last night i wasnt sure i stretched the injector clips to try each way and it was starting and idling on both?
  9. after pulling the head off and porting everything replacing all the gaskets and rebuilding the throttle body ive come to one minor setback i forgot to write down and take a picture of which injector goes where does the green or black one go closest to the fender? its an 89
  10. no as mentioned this is my first time into this engine ... i didnt know i had headstuds till monday night ... so no instructions were included with the motor....
  11. yeah this is my first time looking under the valve cover and in this deep your supposed to threadlock the arp's?

  13. i remember seeing an afr spot on my turbotimer .... its not hooked up i wonder if it is wide or narrow?
  14. stock turbo with a manual boost controller aftermarket boost gauge autolite whats a wideband? is that the afr gauge? i dont have one of those yet supposedly the stock ones had issues in this motor so the previous owner installed some aftermarket forged ones... he showed me reciepts from a machine shop showing that this block had been machined and had pistons crank and connecting rods were installed but could not furnish a receipt for the rotating assymbly itself the legitamacy of that is beyond me

  16. really close to stock .... egr delete and 2.5 inch straight pipe exhaust sligtly better intercooler and no name bov what are starquest supposed to run stock?
  17. 16.44 in the quarter shame.... and rolled 100,000 on the way home next on the mod list are rebuilt and ported tb (at least a little) ported intake port the head and replace the valves as im pretty sure theyre orriginal and some clean ones are in order exhaust has already been gasket matched but the turbo was untouched so port that some too add a manual boost controller and run about 14 psi with headstuds im hoping with all that i should be at least breaking 14's http://i976.photobucket.com/albums/ae243/theresnothingicanchange/2011-11-10165227.jpg
  18. The combinations showed 2 wires showing like 5v and 2 that show nothing and another 2 that show nothing And the key was on
  19. Ok so I got to check codes and it said tps ... Tried the tps reset. And I'm getting no voltage to the two mentioned terminals... this would mean that my tps is bad right?

I may actually have a need for some parts if this other guy falls through . But can always use a helping hand figuring out why my conquest idles so high lol...
  21. I will check the codes Monday as well. And the mas air flow sensor is exactly what I was thinking. Would that throw a code? I may have figured out the problem but not 100% sure won't know till I check codes and try it but would a bad exhaust gasket cause the o2 sensor to read lean and dump extra fuel in causing the high idle? I absolutely love this car I drove it for work today(pizza delivery driver) BUT the high idle is killing gas milage in the city. And heating up the turbo is making it a pain to drive in a constant vacuum rather than boosting like it should Thanks again
