  1. So, I am very new to the Starion/Conquests and have "relative" knowledge of engines but mostly naturally aspirated enginges. Since I didn't see this anywhere else, I thought maybe I'd start a thread (I apologize if I missed the thread and in that case just delete this one) to get some quick and dirty tips on tuning these cars. I'll start with a basic question: 1) Can you swap turbo's (upgrade) to a bigger size without changing stock piping? My car is totally stock but in pretty good shape. If so, how big and how much boost with this stock engine take? 2) Besides a new air intake, what is another quick way to increase performance / effiency? Any and all tips are appreciated. I am looking to bebuild the engine at some point but it probably won't be till next spring/summer so for now, I'm looking for easier, non-invasive changes.
  2. I have a tank with a few small holes in it. From what I've heard, I may not be able to do a 3 part seal procedure and I don't think I'll be able to epoxy the holes either if it's as rotted as the mechanic said. With that said, I'm waiting to hear from a few people on used tanks but I was wondering if the 83-89 tanks for the Starion were all the same or at least similar enough to mount on an '88. Also, I've seen a lot of Eclipse 1G and 3000GT parts which were able to be swapped so I was wondering if anyone knows if those tanks would fit the starion? I might have better luck with the Eclipse tank than I have with searching for a Starion/Conquest one. Thanks in advance.
  3. What would shipping be to 03242, NH? And relative cost of the tank? I'm debating trying to remove the tank and have the bottom re-welded but finding the right guy to do it around here is pretty tough. I haven't seen the inside of the tank to see whether or not it can even be treated (3 part coating treatment) so I'm going off of another mechanic's word. If I can get a tank, great. If it runs too much, ...I'll have to figure something out.
  4. Actually, I'm going to assume it needs a pump (JIC) so if anyone is selling a tank and pump (working and in good condition) please PM me with a price. I'm not sure about the filter but if you have an extra one lying around I'll entertain a price on that too. Thanks.
  5. I recently "inherited" an '88 starion and it's been sitting for a couple years. After 4+ hours of washing off the pollen today, it's surprisingly clean both inside and out and rust is only in one small location. The fuel tank however was the reason it sat. It's got several holes. I'm looking for a "clean" fuel tank. Please send PM me with cost and shipping to NH. Thanks.
  6. Hey David, Do you happen to have a gas tank for an 88 Starion? I was just given this car by my father after it's sat for 2+ years and apparently the only problem at the time was several small (now larger) holes in the tank. We've ordered 2 used ones and both were complete trash and full of rust to the point they weren't even repairable. Obviously not looking new (although new would still be great), but in GOOD condition is necessary. I'm sure I'll have a list of things later once we solve the tank issue and you seem to be the man to go to. Thanks in advance, Jerry PS - would a tank from an earlier model fit the 88? I've been scouring local junkyards and nothing for 88 is popping up anywhere and I'm not sure if the tank changed between 83-89.
