Interesting how only the Starion Side View mirrors are removed for transport.

I'm a bit concerned about painting them. Being multi piece wheels I would want to disassemble them to paint. Is there anything I need to know before I do this? Will the wheels balance fine after re-assembly? How much do you torque the small bolts? Do you use some type of caulking at the wheel joints to avoid air leaks???

I completely understand why the seller made no effort to go out of his way showing the car. I sell parts from time to time on Craigslist and have also sold a couple of cars. I can say without any exageration that 90% of the people that contact you and say they are going to come down to look at a part or your car are flakes and don't show up. This is the reason I make zero effort to go out of my way as I used to and got burned many times over. If by chance I am home and have no plans they can come. In fact I will not give my address to anyone either initially, I tell them the city I live in, what exit to take and once they exit they can call me and I will give them directions to my house. I don't need the world to know my address when most will never take the time to drive down anyways.

Do you have the 2 struts that were not trashed for sale?

Will he be offering the faces for sale or do we have to send the guage cluster to him to have it done? Price???

I don't doubt anyones stories and experiences. Luckily my experience was a positive one.

Anything you do is a waste of time. If someone wants to take it they will show up with a tow truck, hook it up and leave with the car. Especially these new generation of repo trucks that look like normal pick up trucks until the forks fold down from inside the bed. I would put it in a relatives or friends garage if you will not be around for two weeks. If you don't have a place to store it park it in front of someones house you know so they can keep their eye on it.

My intent was only to share my personal experience about this seller. The purchase was made last week and as stated I was not aware until I contacted one of the members that has contributed to this thread and based on the Paypal email confirmed it was the same person. My intent was not to offend anyone and if the person who started this thread feels the same way you do I will be more than happy to edit and remove my posts. I just thought it would be helpful to hear both the negative and positive experiences people have had with this seller and decide if they do want to deal with him or not.

I unknowingly ended up buying some parts from him recently later to find this feedback thread and confirming with members of this community that it was indeed the same guy. I crossed my fingers and hoped I would not get ripped off. The package surprisingly made it to me very quickly. A part was damaged during shipping, I contacted him and asked for a partial refund of my purchase which he gave me after I sent photos as proof of damage. In my experience with him he has been a stand up guy and took responsibility for the damage even though he didn't have to as I had not paid extra to insure the package and damage was caused by the postal service. This is my first and only transaction I had with him which was very pleasant and smooth.

I bought the identical car not in as clean condition for $800 a couple of yeras ago. The tranny is a Getrag 265 I think which is the same tranny used on almost every 5 series and 6 series throughout the 80's and easily found. Nothing rare about it. Personally I dont think that car is worth over $2,500.

Dubai is part of the United Arab Emirates and is the 7th wealthiest country based on wealth per capita right after the US which ranks 6th. I would hardly call it a 3rd world country or compare it to Mexico. Just like in the US when you get too many tickets the car gets impounded until the tickets and fees are paid.

I was just watching Border Wars on TV and the agents were at a scrap yard where the seized cars from the drug dealers get destroyed and there was a gold Starion/Conquest waiting to get scrapped right behind the agent. Car belong to anyone here???? Lol.

I would like to pick up the two sets of rears. I am in Los Angeles so they would have to be shipped. UPS Ground or Fedex Ground is very inexpensive. You can just wrap them in plastic and stick the shipping label on, no need to even use a box.
