  1. Ya I bought a crank from a member on here and found out it was 20 over. Machine shop said it may be to weak for a Turbo engine but I heard it may be fine at that spec. I just had to ask before it gets resembled. Appreciate the prompt posting now I can move ahead a little more confident!
  2. Need a crankshaft for a 87 Starion tsi, Im not realy sure if there is a difference between crankshafts from the turbo engines to the non turbo engines ,So specifcally I need the turbo one if there is a difference.

  3. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot wasn't sure were to post a question like this.

     

    Here is my problem, I am trying to put my g54b on a engine stand. I can get the top 2 arms to go in place but the bottom bellhousing inserts are about under a inch out of range of the arm.

     

    What can I do? Iv looked for individual arms and heard there are extensions for them but no clue were to find them!

     

    My current arms are 5 1/4" I belive a 6" arm would be nessecary.

  4. Starquestgarge is down! I was hoping to find factory removal and rod bearing guide now It seems tobe down....

     

    So Im pulling the engine this weekend and Im in need of some sort of guidence so I can do this in the hope of not damaing anything.

     

    Also Im gonna replace the rod bearings aswell I also need some sort of guide to help me threw the process.

     

    Any help greatly appreciated I want to get her running before winter!

  5. I wanna say thanks to everyone that posted there input. Everything went great! And the dealer said they would change my oil free because they gave me a dented oil filter :mad: . I used 5w30 conventional went threw a hour of gridlock and a few hours of driving with no folleys so all good so far! :lol:
  6. IV checked the oil when the car was cold and hot its saying about the same thing level ground aswell. When I went to my local parts store they said 5w30 conventional was reccomended, I just wasnt sure what the ford dealership deiceded to use.But a half a quart of 5w30 conventional would be ok? If it is infact synthetic?

     

    What if I used a Syn Blend?

  7. Hey everyone, I apologize if this is the wrong section to post this in but here it goes.

     

    I recently bought a 04 infiniti g35x from a ford dealership it was on consignment, it looks like they changed the oil but it seems half a quort low!

     

    Im going to st. cloud tomomorw bout 200 miles round trip but my concern is I dont know what type of oil they used (conventional or Synthectic) I want to top it off but I know if you dont mix them correctly it can create a barrier around areas so it wont lubercate properly. And the person who changed the oil isnt in till monday. So im kinda not sure what todo.

     

    Aside from changing the oil myself what could/should I do? any help is appreciated!

  8. Thanks, wasnt trying to rev alot just enough to have a rough analysis of what was going on. When i get a chance ill do the method u posted ill also take a look at the plugs. If it is bad gas would it detonae on random cylinde

    rs?

     

    Is there a sure way to tell if its a failing mechinanical part or bad mixture?

  9. Well took out the starion yesterday and it started to knock At 3500-5500 never did this before today itsbablil more sluggish.

    Pulled over revved it was knockin at 3500 again went home let it sit went and revved it no knock went to drive it started to knock.

    I was thinkin bad gas maybe only drive it once a week normally but not entirely sure

     

    New rod bearings done last year

    Headgasket and pistons are newish 60k on pistons hrp btw

    One new plug wire got a little burnt from exhast mani

     

    Anyone got any ideas for me to figer this out any help appreciTed
