Im in the market for a new BOV. Ive been looking at the HKS SSQV and i like what i see. My bov is mounted on my OVCP. Its a 1G DSM bov i think. the old school looking one. Are my options limited to a certain kind or anything? or can i pretty much get whatever? Im obviousely not gunna get one for a WRX or something, but im just wondering if im limited to a certain kind. thanks

Im in the process of changing a headgasket and am discovering alot of my coolant hoses are old and decrepid. i havent gone to the auto parts store yet to checl if they have any. A couple of them are bent in wierd angles. Im probly just retarded and dont realize i can make those bends myself, but i figure ill ask you guys if i can. soo if you have any coolant hoses that arent beat to death, i need them. Especially the one that goes through the firewall under the intake manifold. i had to cut it to get at a bolt Also, the hose that runs from the PCV valve to... (i forget where it goes..) is cracked and i need a new one. I heard that Randy has them, soo if your reading this Randy, pm me. thanks guys

Definitely a great time guys. Ill post some pics up in a little bit. But was definitely a really good time. Notstock88 definitely gave me permagrin after the ride in his car. That thing rips. Will definitely be back next year in my car. And lance, can't thank you enough for bringin me down there. Was definitely fun. Getting lost in downtown laporte was interesting too! Hahah. Glad I went though.

sorry to hear that you cant make it Chris! looks like someone else needs to bring some injectors for me! lol. idk if im gunna be able to get my car ready in time. just too much work and not enough time to do it. i dont feel comfortable driving my car that far in the condition its in. soo if someone wants to just bring me some injectors that you know work well, that would be awsome

if anyone wants to sell me a turbo at this meet, that would be awsome. im lookin to spend like $150. it needs to be a direct bolt on, so probly just a 12a. but mine is almost junk and i want to get a good one so i can rebuild mine or mod it. if anyone does, just pm me or tell me on this thread. thanks

soo just get one of the many found on ebay when you type in 89 conquest gaskets?

When i take the valve cover off, so i need to get a new gasket? im already ordering a headgasket tonight, soo if i need to get a valve cover gasket, i would like to know so i can get them at the same time. If im replacing my headgasket, is there any other gaskets or things i should get? i know it sounds stupid, but i want to do it right and not leave anything out. im thinking of going with the Fel-pro hg.. is that a good choice? thanks

damn! thanks Ken! that helps alot. your totally right. i wouldnt have really had any clue what i was looking at if i pulled a head from the junkyard. if i do end up needing a new head, ill just buy a new one online or from someone on here. that really does help me alot though Ken. thankyou. im hoping my problem is just a headgasket. im gunna order one tonight so that when i go at it, i have one to replace mine if it needs it. which leads to my next question of what hg to buy. ive heard of a couple, but i always forget what the brand is called. someone let me know asap so i can buy one tonight. thanks again

soo i gotta see if my head is cracked or not. ill be doing that next week once i get my headgasket. if my headgasket is the problem, and not the head, then ill most likely be there in my car. if not, ill be with lance. im hoping that changing the injectors will help my starting issue. it cranks for a whilee before it starts. and im hoping it will fix a few other things. it seems to just be sluggish lately. like when i press the gas more than halfway, it feels like it loads up almost, kindof hesitates, then goes. idk. hard to explain. Defiantely lookin forward to meeting all you guys though!

On4now could you bring me some injectors to? Ill buy some clips before I go, but I would like to buy some injectors off you. How much are you looking to get out of them?

good call indy. never woulda thought of that. its getting worse btw. ill start it up, runs like s***, warms up, runs ok, turn it off for 5 mintues, start it up, wooooof big clouds.

soo if coolant spews from the plug holes, that means the head is cracked or leaky?

well im reall hoping the head isnt cracked. cus a full rebuild takes a long time. and id only have about a weekend to do it all. i need the car for work. im trying to find a beater car to drive around so i can rebuild my quest and do it right. i guess ill just take the head off and see what it looks like. when i take the head off, i need to get a new headgasket right?

im really thinking about pulling the head. i know i can do it. my only worry is that i dont really know what i would be looking at. i wouldnt know if anything was wrong. but yeah the signs are smells sweet, im pretty sure white smoke and thats all i know. anything else i should look for?

Everytime i fill up my radiator with coolant, which is about once every 2 weeks, my car runs like hell after. It smokes, smells terrible, and takes forever to run right. even if i shut the car off after drviing it for a bit, then start it back up about 2 minutes later, it runs like hell and smokes on startup. but it will run decent after it smokes and stuff. i feel like i might be burning coolant. that would make sense to me, but idk why i would be burning coolant. Headgasket maybe? idk. its really annoying and i want it taken care of. anyone have any ideas?

thanks for all the info guys. it really opened my eyes. here i was thinking i could do it in a weekend. lol. i guess not. ill need another car then if i decide to do this cus right now tis my dd and i need it to get to and from work. i think ill probly just spend a while gathering up the parts and stuff i need then just kinda dive into it. take it one step at a time like everyone said. thanks guys. if anyone has any more input that is also appreciated

Soo i think ive decided i just want to rebuild the G54. its been having all sorts of issues and i just want a fresh start. My question is, how hard is it to do? How long would it take for a guy whos never fully taken apart an engine before? I have access to my buddies dads shop and he has all the tools im pretty sure. And where should i look for a rebuild kit? Ebay? When i do it, i want to get new lifters and injectors too. those have been giving me problems for a while now and they need to be done. i know where i can ge tinjectors, but im at a loss for lifters. any input is helpful. thanks
