  3. I don't recall this particular leak before the transmission work. Leak Behavior Details: When cool, the leak stops. It happens after the car is shut off.... not right away, but about 30 seconds after and then drips maybe 30 times then stops. After initial inspection, the mechanic thought it was oil and not trans fluid.
  4. I had a new syncro kit installed and slave/master cylinders put in. It's a joy to shift. The car is being looked at right now. I'll post the findings when it's fixed..... or if it's for sale
  5. Good point... There has been a lot of dripping, but the oil level still seems ok. I'll check the trans fluid, but I'm not absolutely sure how to tell the difference by inspecting the puddle.
  6. Thanks - that is going to happen today. I'm just concerned that I'm gonna get charged for a seal that wasn't bad to begin with (no previous leak). I wanted to be prepared with as much knowledge as I could. A seal repair means they're gonna drop the transmission again which means $.
  7. I just had the transmission worked on and now there is oil leaking. Its dripping off the very front of the transmission (lowest point). Does this sound like a rear main seal problem? Could it just not be seated properly or can the seals go bad after being opened up? Thanks, Jamie
  8. Hi JW - Regarding the wind deflector. Are the little springs in good shape? How much do you want for shipping? Would you have any more sunroof parts? Outer Seal, Crank Thanks, Jamie

  11. Thanks much- I'll let you know Tuesday what's what. Jamie
  12. Hi mstig - Mines an '87 starion. Where in Illinois is your old trans? The mechanic is going to pull my existing tranny and open it up and on Tuesday he'll let me know what I need. Jamie
  13. I'm in Illinois - Near Moline. I'd be interested in the parts or the used transmission. The previous owner said they installed a Stage III Bronze clutch. I assume that's a performance upgrage, so I don't know if I should just put in a used or fix the existing. Thoughts? Jamie
  14. The Mechanic said I may need a couple of gears and a syncro kit. Where can I get transmission parts and/or rebuild kits? Thanks
  15. $900 for an air dam is expensive and I didn't buy it, but it is original factory painted stock which certainly adds to the price.....try this place: http://www.starionpartsfactory.com/bodyparts.html The air dam is a different style, but a lot less expensive. It'll still cost a penny or two to have painted. - MOOKEEH PERFORMANCE TURBO STYLE FRP FRONT LIP $239 - MOOKEEH PERFORMANCE 83 TURBO STYLE FRP HOOD $279

  19. Thanks for all the replies. I don't plan on doing a group purchase.. this would be on my own. My airdam is pretty busted up so I can't send mine. Scotty mentioned that one can be purchased from Mistubushi for @ $300? Anyone have a link? If that's all they cost, why is there such a demand? Is it just a money thing? Thanks again, Jamie Banfield Coal Valley, Il 61240 309-234-five684 87' Starion So Far: Purchased Wiper Cowl from LEPORE Purchased Pitman & Idler arm from maxboost87 I purchased my Starion on ebay from Florida for $2900 and had it shipped to Illinois. 20. Hi Guys - I contacted a company in India that said they can create Air Dams if I give them one to model from. Has anyone ever attempted this before? If I do have some made, what are some things we'd like to see?....such as flexibility. What would you be willing to pay for one of these? Thanks, J
