  1. Are you needing bushings or shims? The parts manual (1989) doesn't reference bushings but does show a shim. See: Figure 23C-1900 http://www.b2600turbo.com/89i.pdf
  2. Rod, the auto transmission mount is still available from Mitsu. I ordered 2 this past summer for my auto after trying 3 aftermarket mounts. (1987 thru 1989) The problem I had with the aftermarkets were non-alignment of the mount's mounting holes with the transmission's mounting studs. The aftermarkets mounts can be made to work by enlarging the holes. The rubber compound used on the aftermarket's is harder than the rubber compound used on the OEM mounts. Try Rockville Mitsubishi: http://www.rockvillemitsubishi.com/partsservice/parts.jsp MB309325 ($48.56) Insulator Engine Mounting Rear - auto transmission (Mitsu name for the tranny mount) If you replaced the mount, there are 2 bolts on each side of the metal cross-brace with a rubber insulator. The insulators are a 2-piece design - an upper cushion and lower cushion. Mine were shot, so I also replaced them since they are still available. The cushions are the same for auto's and manuals. MB309333 Cushion Upper ($6.74 you'll need 2) MB309334 Cushion Lower ($6.74 you'll need 2) The part number for a manual transmision mount (if needed) is: MB006705 ($64.04) (1987 thru 1989). I don't know about availability from Mitsu.
  3. Went with Mike Saturday morning to help him bring back the car. As Mike said, the seller was a decent guy, definately new to starquests. If Mike would not have bought it, I was headed for an ATM. 86 Technica, 77,013 miles on the digital dash, automatic - ATF clean, no burnt smell, original donut tire never used (tire jack was padded with newspapers dated 1996), interior cargo carpet panels in excellent condition, all switches functional, though the electronic talking lady would have to go. I'm sure Mike will soon have pics up.
  4. Dash mats were still available about a year ago approximately $30 plus shipping. Ordered one for my 87. Check out: http://www.mrdashmat.com/Mitsubishi-Conquest-TSI-Dashboard-Cover-p-19216.html May want to call their 877 number first.
  5. The part number for the 83 thru 86 hood release cable is MB021222. Don't know if it is still available thru Mitsu. You might try Rockville Mitsubishi on-line part service, I've had good luck with them. http://www.rockvillemitsubishi.com/partsservice/parts.jsp 87 and later uses MB270659.
  6. I'm like Burton, I keep a Kiddie 2 lb dry chemical. Mine's under the rear of the driver's seat.
  7. Brad, 5-speed or auto?
  8. When you open your back hatch, check the struts.....brass electrical contacts for the lights and wiper may need cleaning.
  9. Mitsubishi refers to the tranny mount as "Insulator, Engine Mounting Rear". As Jimmy said, the mounts are different between the manuals and auto's. For the manual tranny, there were 2 OEM parts; MB006602, used before 3/87 and superceded by MB006705, used after 3/87 (87's - 89's). I don't know if they are still available through Mitsu. For auto tranny's; MB309325. As of mid-summer, these were still available through dealers. I ordered and received 2 of them for my auto. The rubber compound used on the OEM mount is soft and has a lot of 'give'. I ordered and checked the aftermarket auto mounts available through Autozone and Advanced Auto. The rubber compound is harder but the mounting holes would not align with the 2 mounting holes on the auto transmission case. If you go aftermarket, just be sure you can return them if they don't work. If you are replacing the tranny mount, check the rubber cushions on each side of the transmission mounting bracket. These are 2 part cushions, Upper: MB309333, Lower: MB309334. You'll need 2 each. These are used on both the manual and auto tranny's. Again, these were still available this past summer from Mitsu. Part numbers referenced above can be found in Group 9A Engine 4 Cylinder; Figure 9A-5300. http://www.b2600turbo.com/87i.pdf
  10. Go to page ITB-20 to identify the clips you need. http://www.starquestgarage.com/partsloc/conquest/1988/88_conquest_parts_locator_-_group_ITB_-_interior_trim.pdf I order through Rockville Mitsubishi. You'll have to create an account. Most clips are still available. http://www.rockvillemitsubishi.com/partsservice/parts.jsp
  11. Good for a few laughs. http://thereifixedit.com/
  12. has not set their status
  13. The number 8 fuse controls the power antenna, the central door lock, power window relay and the alarm buzzer. You probably will have to trouble shoot each circuit to find your problem. If you don't have a factory service manual, go to this site and click on 'service manuals': http://www.starquestgarage.com/ Click on the appropriate year for your starquest and go to the chapter that covers electrical systems. The 88 manual covers most of the issues for 87 thru 89. Send mikec a PM. Be as specific as you can and give him the year of your starquest. I'm sure as soon as he sees your post, he'll reply with some recommendations.
  14. Yea, since Jan 1, 2006, Missouri hasn't been to friendly to Missourians who purchase or sells used vehicles. Missourians selling to Missourians must file a "Notice of Sale" (DOR Form 5049) or risk a $200 fine. Missouri purchasers must complete and have the seller sign a "Bill of Sale", (DOR Form 1957), if they want to title the car in Missouri. That was the problem I had when I bought the flatty last year in Kansas and tried to title in Missouri...no signed Bill of Sale. Luckily my son was stationed in Kansas and 'bought' the flatty and gave it to me as an early Christmas present.
  15. Agree, if you pick it up let me know. I'm only a few hours away and it would be a good week-end activity. I have an engine hoist and engine stand I can bring along.
  16. Isn't the car beside it, Driver's side, a Starquest - widebody?
  17. If you don't, Mike and I may have to make a trip east.
  18. This may help, see page 3 for pictures of the coil wiring. http://starquest.i-x.net/viewtopic.php?t=1131
  19. Here's the posts. Used them when I had to pop the hood to replace my hood latch cable. First one has the pics. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.p...ic=72787&hl http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.p...c=93720&hl=
