I also didn't see the little fan turing on. When does the little fan supposed to turn on?

I live in Texas now and my 87 Starion is getting hot. I just installed a refurbished A/C unit and now its getting even hotter. The temp gage is a little past the half mark. I changed the thermostat already. What can I do? Any feedback will help.

Tough to tell because your so zoomed in but it looks like the A/C fan relay. Take another picture farther out.

This started getting hot when I was recharging my air conditioner. I seen the plastic smoking a little so I unplugged it. Everything so far in the car still works.

Can someone tell me what this controls and why it got hot?

 

 

Also what does the blue/red wire control and where does it go to?

Looking for 1987 starion passenger side wiper arm (the whole black steel wiper arm) Fort Worth, TX

[Hood Latch- (How to open the hood if inside lever will not pull it)]

My 1987 inside hood lever is just dangling and lost its 2 screws. But if I replace the screws it still will not pull it open. Is there a manual way to open the hood? If not, what do I have to do to fix this problem. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have an 87 Starion. I lost power to the power windows, seat belts(wont retract), heater, clock led time (but the orange light is still lite on it), and the beeper wont beep if I forget to take the keys out.

 

Can you tell me what the problem could be?

I know 1 of the clamps on the air filter is missing so I will replace this somehow. Thanks for all the information.

Where are you? You need a local starquester to help.

 

Just because it throws those codes doesn't mean there is anything wrong with those sensors. The codes means something is out of whack to the point the stock computer can't compensate.

 

I'm located in Post Falls, Idaho. I just had the timing checked and it was right on. I changed most of the vacuum tubing and gave it new plugs, wires ect.

What about my o2 sensor? do you think it could be that?

I just got the error codes from my 1987 Starion. I get the 1 blink, pause, then the 3 blinks, pause, 1 blink, pause, then the 5 blinks, pause, 1 blink

 

Im getting error codes:

 

1 Blink when the car was already hot

2 Blinks- just a couple times though that I seen

3 Blinks- constantly

4 Blinks- N/A

5 Blinks- constantly

 

The code 3 is the MAS and code 5 is for the TPS. I really dont know where the MAS and TPS is. can someone tell me or upload some pics for this?

 

Am I supposed to replace these parts or adjust something?

I have another question if anyone can answer it?

 

Under the dash by the foot pedal to the right there is a good size white wire that is cut. I immediatley put a cap on it. Does anyone know what that wire can be for?

I'm not sure if an 87s max boost is 6 or 8 lbs. If you are getting 6, I would think that's all you should get.

 

Tune it up and replace that clip then check back.

 

You should also check for vacuum leaks. Those hoses are 23 years old.

 

I will start changing the vacuum hoses now. Will the local auto parts have these tubes or do I have to go to the Mitsubishi dealership?

 

Also where can I find a seal that goes around the sunroof glass itself?
