  1. Ok so i traded a friend my 95 GST for his 87 Quest with a built engine but had blown the 14g that was on it. After that was said and done he put a E316g on it and it runs great but after you hit 10psi it spits and sputter like its hitting fuel cut. But earlier tonight it hit 15psi before that happened. So i am wondering what can be the cause of this problem? Because I plan to put a Dual stage boost controller on it and have high boost set to 20psi and low boost at 12psi. Also its not a stock 87 ecu from what ive been told. Also the Gas pedal is stiff as heck, it doesnt have the stock throttle cable its a universal the same friend put in, so i am wondering if i put a stocker back on it would it fix the stiff pedal?
  2. well thanks for help but didnt get the car. Went to pay for it and i made sure that the $400 was all i needed and he doubled price to $800 on me so i offerd $500 but no more and he said no that he can sell the car in 5 hours for that much. Which is bull cause the car has been sitting in the back for years. So im back on the hunt for a good canidate for restoration.
  3. well im picking it up today from the yard, last time i say it the oil looked good no metaljust black from age. Turbo has a little play but not much (im replacing it with a stock 12a to get it going). My major concern is the Fuel tank. I have looked and looked and looked for one but cant find one anywhere. I saw my friends in his old one (parts car) was rusted out and the one on his car not had started to rust do to a massive amount of water in tank (approximatly 5 gallons and this is no joke how it ran was beyond belief). Ill check compression as soon as it get it home but will probly end up taking head off and putting new timing chain, head gasket, and go ahead and order studs for it anyways to be on the safe side.

  5. well where i live we dont have many of these and i dont know any sites at all except that one that has performance parts so if you have info on a cheaper site let me know i like to save money as much as i like to spend it but just dont know much and i cant even find this *DM place.

IDK about what he ment but im buying a brand Street Performance head $1700 for just it, then the race port polish isanother $600, then 292 cam, and the rockers, which should total around $2800-$3000 especially since my state is probly gonna pass a taxing act on internet items. But if i can find a cheaper one ill go with it. And i am located in Louisiana.
  7. If you dont know how to build a head for 3k then you havnt fully built a car before. I know exactly what im getting into so if you have no useful info GTFO. And i was talking about power, not blowing second having to do with the FMIC or did you just not understand the post? He has enough power to run 13s and is using a stock fmic so i was asking if it will hold up to a car pumping the air through it to run that. Which is 20-23psi i think.
  8. yea im planning on dropping about 1k to get it running, then drop aboiut 3k to build block, then another 3k for head, then about 4k for turbo ETC. I just cant find a site that has Conquest parts.
  9. So just find a factory one? Are they good for up to 300hp cause im going to start building it up more and more eventually. But i know my friend ran a 14.2 in his and was on track for a 13.8-13.9 run when he blew 2nd gear and he is using a stock fmic with a forced performance 14g.
  10. Ok so i have been looking for a project car to work on this summer since school let out and i narrowed it down between a 1st gen Talon TSi AWD and a Conquest. So to make a long story short i chose the conquest. The one i am looking at has been sitting for a while maybe 7 years or more i have no idea. Ive been told by a friend that the engine is still good and so is tranny it just needs new plugs, wires, fluids, gas, etc. I will be paying between $400-$600 for it and here are the details. It is an 87' Silver Widebody no major damage, still has front air dam, only missing a turbo inlet pipe, has red leather, 5 speed, and an older lady owned the car and a synchro in reverse was going bad so she gave it to the yard and its been sitting ever since. The friend that told me about it also said that if we have to he has a complete engine rebuilt and everything he will give me to drop into it if it needs one which we dont belive it does. I have noticed when i saw it though that the FMIC had a pretty good size dent in it and may or may not leak so is there anywhere that sells a FMIC kit for a Conquest. Also is there a place that sells a Intercooler hard pipe kit for it as well if anyone knows let me know plz i am gonna worl day and night to get this car on the road running before a car show next weekend. I know its high hopes but i set high goals in my life and succed most of the time.

  14. T56 as in the 6 speed out of a camaro? will that fit cause i will be more than happy to use it.

  16. ok so a D-50 from a mighty max is the one i need, but i dont want a 4 speed i would like a 5 speed. what about a montero tranny or is it the same as a mighty max 4 speed? and an automatic is out of the question to boring in an auto.
  17. Hey i am gettin a friends 86 Starion from him for free, and i wanna do a 4g63 swap. But im not sure what kinda tranny to use. The Starion im gettin is a Auto but i want a 5 speed. I was lookin around and found some info but its for a rocket scientist i couldnt understand any of it. I aleady have the 4g63 6-Bolt and the car all i need is a Tranny to do the swaps. I just need a list of parts i need i was told i could use 2 right side Starion motor mounts on the 4g63 but not sure. So please tell me what kind of tranny and any other little things im not thinkin of. And im going to try to post some pics of the car and the engine next weekend.
  18. hey guys, im on here for a frend he has a 87 conquest and it has been built bottom end, forged pistons, rods, cam, 14g turbo, manual boost controller, stock FMIC, 1st gen eclipse BOV, and injectors are 650 and 950. And it has been backfiring and bogging underboost. It even shot flames at idle on the night it got bad. But we changed the rear filter and hit it on the ground and a peice of silicone fell out of it and it ran alot better. At 10psi its not realy back fireing very much, but at 14psi where he usually keeps it every time he punches it. he bogs a sec then shoots off and every gear will back fire like hes to rich. what else can cause this problem he would like to have it fixed before he puts a bigger turbo on it. Just let me know what else i can be.
