any ideas anyone

ok now i changed my vac advance to a workin 1 installed an aftermarket boost guage.. now my problem is that it wont boost. i mean it boosts but very low like 3 or 4 lbs and that cause i got a pair of vice grips on the acuator arm

o ok then i guess thats 1 problem solved.. now the other problem is i went to change my vac advance come to realize the one originally one the car was actually good and the one i wanted to put on was bad ( had no suction hold to it) no the problem is i had no room to take out the 2 little screws that hold it on the dizzy so i marked the dizzy with a marker and took out the dizzy now i went to put it back in and i lined up my mark and now it wont start. i had to move the dizzy the total oppisite way from my mark for the car to stay runnin. and now the car idles rough.. any ideas anyone... i would like to get back smooth cause its my dd.. thanks in advance

i had the same problem after rebuildin mine.. it ended up bein my injector clips were shot replaced those and that solved that

i just installed an aftermarket boost guage..... now on idle the vaccum is at 18.. wats it suppossed to be

where can i hook up my power and ground wire for the guage to turn on and off with the park lights

ok check it out guys i got my aftermarket boost guage installed on the cluster but the hose that comes with it is a tiny as hose and dosent stay in the guage with the fittins. any ideas... also if im suppossed to use it how is it supposed to fit ina t at the throttlebody.

ok guys thanks... will do, i will report back wen i do summin to that actuator... another question... i know the stock boost guage are not accurate at all in our cars but it should be some what accurate.. now my car starts good and drives good but at idle the vaccum is i between 7 and 14.. and wen i boost i can only boost to maybe 3 or 4lbs... i re did all vaccum lines except bov not sure where to put it it was originally t'ed off on the top driver side fire wall. so i know i have no vaccum leaks all ic pipes are tight idk wat else to do

ok now if my actuator is bad wat are symtoms of a bad actuator...

so i should take the arm off the pin of the turbo?

also wats the best spot to connect my bov.. rite now its t'ed off by the passenger side fire wall

ok im having problems boostin.. im not boostin my 7lbs that im suppossed to. im boostin maybe 3lbs. i had a buddy of mine check it out ( a fellow ex starquester ). he said its my wastegate and the reason being its stuck somewhat open thats why im spoolin quickly and not boostin full potential.. any ideas???? also what kinda wastegate should i replace with if thats the case i have to replace mine

i was looking at my turbo yesterday after readin some forum topic an noticed that i am missin the cotter pin on the arm that goes from the waste gate to the side of the turbo... how and wat can i substitue with. also my buddy said that arm i supposed to move if i push it back and forth. is that true? im not buildin boost so i think the waste gate is stuck open some sort..

ho could i tell if the turbo is bad.. i mean it sounds great but spools kinda quick in my opinion

hey guys as some of you mite know i bought my quest about a year and a half ago.. when i first got it, it ran like a champ until about 4 months after when i thought i blew my motor up.. i was on my way homw from atco nj (race track) and i stated hearing a high pitch sound and a sound that i could only describe as marbles in a can.. anyway i got home turned the car off it was to late to work on it the next mornin i went to start it and it wont start and if it did i ran for 4-5 seconds.. anyway push come to shove the sounds ended up being my crank pulley seperatin and my injector clips were bad... now after about a year of taking my time checking eberything over im in a new problem.. it starts idles great sounds great but my problem is now from a stand still if i take off its sluggish i.e takes a while to actually get acceleration and im not boostin my regular 7lbs its boostin maybe 4lbs.. any ideas.. the car is an 87 quest with 160,xxx 5spd upgraded fuel pump 88-89 ecu 1st gen bov everything else is stock

ok one more question before i get going on my new assignment... how bout clear coat??? should i clear coat them after or not
