That is defiantly on my list of things to do, but would that have anything to do with the oil separator being hooked up being the only time it smokes?

The pcv valve is oem, but its the original one. And I believe the valve seals are original as well, but I can ask the previous owner on that

You can easily blow through the separator, I'll check the hoses tomorrow

Hi guys I have a 88 basically stock quest, bsek, gutted down pipe, and it smokes with the oil separator hooked up if I'm sitting stopped for a little bit, stops smoking after I accelerate. But with the oil separator unhooked, it doesn't smoke. I know the oil separator needs to be hooked up so I am wondering if anyone knows what would cause the smoke. I have cleaned the separator out also, and that didn't help.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the information, I know the car was driven for at least if not more 5k miles like that. The po rebuilt the turbo probably 5k miles ago aswell.

I already have a hardpipe there because the hose ripped. I had it installed pretty bad so I went and reinstalled it, and after I had it looking nice my vacuum line on that valve would not reach the fitting on my hardpipe. Also before I owned the car it was smoking and they removed the vac line to the oil separator, and it stopped smoking. Is this okay?

Can the valve be eliminated?

Which lines are neccesary on the accordion hose? Is the big one coming out of the air can needed? and what about the one on the bottom? Also what do these lines do?

For sure a meet sounds great. Always weird for me to plan anything though because I work sat-mon and most people are off while I'm working lol

Hey guys well I've been on here a little while and I've been reading the site for about 3 years, but I decided to make an intro because I finally got my quest a few months ago. I met my gf almost 4 years ago, and her step mother had this mint 88 quest. I have wanted it ever since. She then sold it to my girl friend with 56k miles. June of this year it was finally mine with 83k miles. She dailyed it for 2 years with no mention able problems. Its basically stock with a bsek, gutted cat, and a hard pipe from turbo to air can because I ripped the other one installing a new filter. Since I have had it I have installed new ngk plugs, and wires, new dist cap and rotor, new injector clips, new fuel filter, new k&n air filter, and some alpine type-s speakers. My turbo manifold is cracked, and I was wondering if anybody had used the t3 manifold on ebay. The turbo is on its last leg too so I might as well do it all now.

Im looking for a hvac panel for a 88 or 89, wear on the buttons is fine, the display on mine has turned almost all the way orange to where you can't read the numbers. Thanks in advance
